Chapter 10: Old Memories

I wanna start off by saying sadly ONCE AGAIN sorry for taking so so long! (Bleh) my Iphone broke and I had a loner Phone and all I could donwas read and text (which stopped working within a day or two.) but either way... What fo you think of the story so far? Ive reread some off what ive wrote and honestly hated it lmao sorry for the torture 😂 but anyone in this chapter i plan on progressing her and Daryls relationship a little. Chapter 10:

My heart broke as I looked into his deep brown eyes. They showed off scarce, but not regret. He was hovering over an older woman who seemed to be around the age of 20 or 21. She didn't even flinch away from her current position underneath my boyfriend David.

"David..." Was all I could bare to whisper out. He knew, he fuckin knew of my past with my first boyfriend, promising to never hurt me. always be there for me and never cheat on me like that douchbag did. He had fuckin promised me and he lied to my face.

"Shay... I know I promised. Im so sorry, But I dont love you... Shay."

My heart seemed to have stopped working. After all the secrets and deep things I have told him. After all the apparently fake I Love yous from him over the phone and in the school halls, he was breaking up with me this way.

"Go to hell, just..." My eyes started to sting with the pompeii expolsion of tears coming out of them.

"Just go to fuckin hell."

I had turned around to bolt down tge stairs. I turn around to the sound of footsteps behind me. I see David with a sheet around him.

"Leave me alone you low life son of a bitch. I never want to see your dumbass fac-" Im cut off by a hand to my face. The stung over powers me causing mote tears to flow from my wide green eyes. I turn to face him, he has a smug smirk planted across his face.

"No one calls me anything like that. Espcially a fuckin stupid slut who can't keep a guy. Not even her dead brother."

"How dare-" Im cut off once again to a punch to my left eye. I hold it tightly and let out a pleaded cry. The pain is overwhelming and hurts even more coming from someone I trusted.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long Fucking time Shay. Now get the hell of my house." I feel a shove to both my shoulders as I tumble down the stairs. My side hurting and my head having an earthquake of its own. The world seems to go Black and White and the stars are duller that the street lamps. My eyes start to droop and the noises start to fade. My mind goes blank and I fall asleep.

I wake up in Shane's jeep dripped from head to toe in sweat. The sun is still shining brightly and the clouds still soft and white. I turn slightly to see that Shane is gone and out talking to Daryl, Rick and Glenn impatiently. I feel dizzy and lethargic wanting just to jump on a soft bed and fall back asleep. I keep replaying my terrible dream over and over in my head. Although it wasn't really a dream, more of a terrible flashback.

I step of the Jeep and search for my footing on soft grass. I stumble over to them feeling the Georgia heat on my face and the tiredness in my body.

All the boys turn to look at me with annoyed faces on.

"Have a problem?" I ask holding out my hand.

"Yea. You need to shut the hell up when your sleepin. No ones wanting younin their car now girl. Your just too fuckin annoying." Daryl snaps my way.

I ignore him, to tired to come up with somethinggs say back and turn towards Rick.

"What?" I ask him.

"Nothing anymore, theres some cars blocking our way, but me and Shane will take care of it. You stay here woth Daryl and stay safe." He replied strongly.

"Hell. No. Im coming to Rick, if you run into any walkers out there you need me to take care of them. Im probably the fastest in this group!" I spat back at him. I hate the fact that the woman seem to be even more targeted to sexism because they apparently don't have the sam "skills" that men have. Which is what? Football? Hockey? We have that too and dominate. I just wish it would end.

"Please Shay, Im not saying you wouldn't be a great help Im just saying all we need is two people to clear this, to make it quicker. Okay?" Rick said with his pleading blue eyes.

"Fine. Just hurry up please."

At that they went around the R.V quickly and the world seemed to have gone silent.

After what seemed like hours of no voices no sounds, I heard Daryl's crunching feet walking around me to the front of my face.

"What were ya dreamin bout that made me wake up? What made Shane have to fuckin stop?"

"What the hell are you talking bout?"

"I mean your fuckin screaming again!" Daryl yelled into my face.

I knew what he meant. Casey told me that I scream in my sleep. She always tells me to try to think happy thoughts before going to sleep, bit there are no happy things to think about.

"Its n-none of your buisness." I managed to stutter out. I wasn't gonna inform some random redneck about my past life. Especially my personal past life. I turned away from him so I wouldn't have to face him any more.

I felt a hand on my arm that spun me around gently so I was facing Daryl again. I looked down so I wouldn't have to look at his pretty blue eyes.

"Was it about me? Did you have a nightmare that I would hurt you?" He said with this sudden softness.

I looked up and put my hand on his rough shoulder.

"No Daryl, i promise it wasn't. Its just something from my past thats bery personal and... Im just not ready to share it."

He shrugged my hand off his shoulder at the sight of Rick and Shane reappearing.

"Were clear." Rick said getting back into the R.V.

Shane walked over to us eyeing Daryl.

"Shay ya coming?" he asked walking over to the Jeep.

"Nah, I think I'll just hitch a ride from this one." I said pointing to Daryl.

I could tell he was trying to hide a smile so instead appeared a slight smirk. I smirked and started walking to his truck. i climbed in and turned around to see Daryl up in my face.

"I knew ya liked me."
