I woke up in the tent alone. I was sweating river streams and my bag of clothes were gone.
"God Damn." I whispered to myself.
I Dreamed of flirting with the hunter...guy, and wishing more would have happened.
Ugh.
I stepped out of the tent to Lori and Carl sitting around the campfire boiling what looked like water and rocks.
"Y'all ain't goin all Flintstones on me now right?" I asked chuckling.
Lori chuckled along with me and Carl just looked confused, probably having no idea who the hell the Flintstones were.
"No, it's just some boil water, leftover chicken broth and squirrel that Daryl got."
My smiled dissipated at the sound if his name. I don't feel comfortable with the thought of Daryl still being pissed at me. Especially when I'm having these sweat startin nightmares.
"How was your first night?" Lori asked as Carl started poking the fire with a long stick.
"Fine." I answered plainly.
"Carl, why don't you go see why it's taking so long for your father to wake up." Lori said pushing Carl away gently.
I looked at her strangely as she watched Carl climb into there big blue tent. She then looked back at me and then to the pot of stew. She pulled out a splintering wooden spoon and spun the breakfast.
"I heard you scream, this morning. Actually we all heard you. Throughout the night."
I looked away to the the R.V where my Dad and Casey were looking at me with daggers and bags under there eyes.
"Did somethings, um...happen?" she asked now looking up at me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Something... this is weird um, sexual?"
My eyes widened, i could feel the flush on my cheeks, but all i wanted to do was laugh.
I tilted my head back and howled with laughter. Lori gave me and annoyed and disapproving look.
"No, no, nonononono, not at all," I said wiping away a few tears. "just a nightmare, kinda, that's all I promise." Lori laughed awkwardly and went back to stirring the soup.
I started walking over to Casey and Dad as they tried to casually pretend they weren't listening the whole time.
"Dad, i didn't lose my virginity to some washed up redneck hunter. Ok?" I said smiling.
"You still have your virginity!?" Casey laughed out.
"And how the hell do you know about this?" I asked laughing back.
"I was in 4th grade when all this happened.
Not kindergarden."
I laughed a little more as Dad started shooting steam out of his ears listening to his too 'little' girls talking about sex.
"Casey, why don't you go help Carl serve breakfast. You on the other hand," my dad said pointing towards me."You go and help the women wash the laundry by the pond." he then turned and climbed to the top of the R.V and turned the radio up high so all we could hear was static.
It was around a ten minute walk to the pond. It was surrounded by high rocky hills and sedimentary rock. I spotted Jackie, Andrea, Amy, and Carol down at the very edge with a wooden basket filled with tank tops and boxers. I started walking down the steep sandy slope to where they were sitting.
