Hello my lovelies! I have gotten some great ideas from you lovely people! If you see yours comment :)
Tris's POV:
Tobias and I drive to the café and when we sit down at the counter we order our breakfast. I get pancakes with home fries and Tobias orders scrambled eggs with bacon.
"How about we play a question game," says Tobias once the lady taking our orders walks away.
"Sure! What kind of question game?' I ask.
"You can ask me any question you want and I will answer truthfully. Then I ask you a question that you will answer truthfully and the game keeps going like that. If you aren't comfortable answering the question you can just say pass."
"Sounds easy enough. Should I start?"
"Is that your first question?" Tobias asks, smirking.
I roll my eyes but I can't keep the smile from my face.
"Was that yours?" I retort and he chuckles.
"Go ahead and ask me something," says Tobias.
"Hmmmm," I think for a moment. What should I ask him?
"What's your favorite movie?"
"Definitely Elf. It is hilarious!" he replies.
"Really? That's my favorite movie too! I love the part when Buddy talks about the four main food groups."
"Candy, candy cane, candy corn. And syrup!" We both recite at the same time.
"Ok, my turn. What is one of you worst fears?"
"Crows," I say without hesitation. "They are big and black and loud and terrifying."
Tobias just nods so I guess it is my turn.
Our food comes soon and we continue to ask each other questions. After Tobias pays the check we just sit their and keep playing the game. Then it is my turn again and I get an idea.
"Do you trust me?" I ask.
Tobias looks surprised and a little confused.
"Of course I trust you."
"Then follow me," I say and I take his hand and we walk to the car.
I hold out my hand and say, "keys."
"What?"
"I'm driving because you don't know where we are going yet."
He hands over the car keys and climbs in the passenger seat while I get in on the driver's side. Tobias doesn't ask where we are going because he knows it is a surprise and I wouldn't tell him anyway. After about ten minutes of driving in silence I pull into a deserted parking lot with crumbling pavement.
We both get out of the car and I say," Follow me and no questions."
"Why can't I ask questions?" He whines slightly annoyed.
"Because you said you trust me."
We walk through some trees and when we come out on the other side Tobias stops walking and gapes at the upward at a very big empty ferris wheel.
"What are we doing here?" He asks.
"In candor or dauntless you said you had never been on a ferris wheel before. I always loved them as a kid so I thought it would be a good Valentines day treat," I say with a huge smile plastered on my face.
Tobias's smile however falters slightly. Just slightly, but long enough that I pick up on it.
"Do you not want to go on it?" I ask a little bit disappointed. Maybe he doesn't like it! Maybe I messed this one up big time!
"No! I love it" he exclaims but I can tell he is faking the smile."Come on!"
Tobias takes my hand and we walk over to the base of the ferris wheel. I try to lighten the mood a bit by joking around.
"Maybe I should go first because I won't crush you if I fall," I tease.
His smile falls again and he goes a little pale.
Oops!
"I'm joking Tobias! Come on, let's go."
I grab a rail and start to climb up. Soon after, I can hear Tobias behind me. About halfway up his breathing gets really heavy. Just like when he is claustrophobic. Then I realize...
"You're afraid of heights!" I say.
He looks up at me.
"Yeah," he barely gets out.
"Let's get in here," I say. Then I climb into one of the carts. It sways slightly under my weight but it is stable enough for Tobias to climb on. Once he is in he takes my hands in his.
I wait while he gets his breathing under control before saying, "Why didn't you tell me? I wouldn't have made you come up here if I knew you didn't like heights."
Tobias looks into my eyes and says, "You didn't make me. I chose to come up here with you. I know you were really excited about this."
I sigh.
"Just tell me next time, alright?"
"Yeah."
Then he leans in and kisses me. Best Valentines day ever.
