Katie's - POV

I woke up with a start; I couldn't see anything. I felt something covering my face and tried to reach up to remove it but found that my hands were tied behind my back.

I started panicking and thrashing around. I didn't know what was happening.

"Hey, shut it!" I heard a booming voice from right next to me before I felt a blow to my side. The wind was knocked out of me and I started coughing. I stopped thrashing because I was scared of getting hit again.

What the hell was going on?!

I heard the person standing next to me walk away and they started talking to someone else a bit further away.

"...not ready yet..." I could only make out bits and pieces as they were talking quietly.

"...doesn't matter...boss wants her ready...rigorous training courses..." I was straining my ears a lot to hear the small snippets of conversation.

"Get her ready. The Mamba is in position."

I didn't know what the mamba was, but I definitely did not like it at all. I heard the person move closer to me and I tried escaping from their grasp by wiggling but they slapped me across the face, dazing me.

"Stay still, otherwise I'll hurt you more." They said in a strangely calm tone that instantly made me cease my struggling.

The man dragged me up by my arms and roughly walked me to where ever it was that he was taking me.

By the time we stopped I didn't have a clue where we could be as there were so many twists and turns along the way, resulting in me being even more distressed.

The smell of the place was horrible. The metallic blood and the vinegar like smell invaded my nostrils and gave my system a massive shock. It was horrid.

I felt the man's breath close to my ear just before he whispered, "Don't try to run." While gripping my arms even tighter. "Do you understand." He said, lounder this time. Obviously annoyed at my lack of answer.

I vigorously nodded my head hoping that he didn't do anything else to me. Luckily, to my relief, he untied my arms and removed my blind fold.

That fear that released me quickly took hold again as I saw the scene in front of me.

A girl, a few years older than me, staring at me like she hated me, like she wanted to kill.

She was wearing a tank top so I could see old scars mingled with fresh cuts covering her body. Angry bruises covered her face as well.

"I'm going to enjoy this." The man who had been leading me said, as he walked away and out the door before shutting it and locking it.

As soon as the door was shut the girl started to advance on me.

"Wait! What are you doing?." I said, trying to get her to stop, "Please."

She didn't stop and the first punch that connected with my side felt like it broke a few ribs.

I cried out and stumbled to the side, putting my arms up to block the next punch, but she saw this and kicked me hard in the knee.

I felt my legs crumble from under me as an excruciating pain emanated from my knee.  I glanced down at it and through my tears saw that it was bent at a weird angle.

The girl grabbed me by my hair and dragged me to my feet. I hopped along after her, desperate to keep my knee from getting hit by anything else.

But that turned out to be the least of my worries.

The beating took what felt like hours and the majority of my bones were broken by the time she was finished. I couldn't move without experiencing pain that I didn't even know was possible to feel.

"That's enough, Mamba." I heard someone from the door say and she instantly backed away from me.

It didn't stop the constant agony or my sobbing though.

I felt a needle enter my neck and I blacked out.

I slowly woke up in a nice bed. I tried to move only to experience the worst pain I've ever felt before and then it all came back to me.

I looked around, as my neck felt bruised and battered but not broken, and saw a someone standing by the door. My breathing started to quicken and swallowing was nearly impossible before the person stepped into the light and I saw they were wearing a white lab coat.

It was then that I took in the rest of my surroundings and saw that I was in a hospital, although, as I focused my hearing I couldn't hear anyone else but I shook that off.

"Ms Bloom?" I heard the doctor say. I turned my head to face him, careful to keep my body from moving. "You're awake, good."

I don't know what it was about him but my feelings of dread shot off the scale about the situation I was in. Unfortunately, I couldn't voice any of these thoughts as I had a breathing tube in my mouth that was probably going to get taken out as I was awake now.

"It seems you've had a bit of an incident," the doctor said with a straight face. "Looks like you really don't know anything about fighting. We should have waited for a while before letting the Mamba have a go at you."

My eyes bulged and I gagged on the tube. He knew the people who took me and was helping them!

I felt my eyes fill with tears as I couldn't do anything but lie there, at his mercy.

"You're probably wondering why I'm helping those people that took you," he said with a light chuckle, walking closer to me. "I have a bit of a confession to make."

He leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear. "I was the one who took you." He laughed maniacally, standing back up.

I started full on crying now, the sobs racking my body making me cry out in pain.

"No need to cry Ms. Bloom," He said, walking about the room. "You're in safe hands now."

A woman walked in and brought out a needle before injecting it into the bag of fluids attached to me. It wasn't long before whatever she injected went through the cannula and into my body.

I was out cold before I even knew what had happened.
