Katie's - POV

I twirled a pencil around in my hand while the headphones on my head spewed the Russian that I was learning. I was able to understand Russian but I still only knew the basics when writing or reading it but Drew didn't seem worried about that.

I wrote down the answer to the question before taking my headphones off and handing the piece of paper back to Drew.

"Good, you've got it all down." Drew said, looking up at me and smiling. "I'm proud of you for getting this far; you've done amazingly well."

I felt myself swell with pride from that compliment as I really cherished Drew's opinion.

"You're ready now," Drew suddenly said. "You may not believe me but you're ready for this and you're going to do great."

Today was my last day of training. The twenty seven previous days had gone by in the blink of an eye and the next thing I knew it was the day before I was travelling to Russia, specifically Krasnoyarsk, for my mission there.

I had studied the target, I knew my way around the whole city and I understood and could speak basic Russian. All in all it had been a very productive month but I wasn't surprised that I had progressed this much with a teacher like Drew. She was someone who I knew cared for me and was willing to push me hard enough to get maximum effort.

"Thanks Drew," I said, feeling more relaxed than ever. "I feel a lot better about my chances because of all the training you got me to do."

"You've definitely followed it well. We may even be able to take the target down on the first try."

Taking down a target. That didn't seem so hard with all the experience Drew and I had combined. I felt excited at the prospect of completing a mission and showing everyone that I was capable.

Looking back on how I used to be makes me anxious as I never want to be that vulnerable again. I was sure even the likes of Mamba would respect how far I'd come.

"Alright, get some sleep because tomorrow you're going to be setting off bright and early." Drew stood up and gave me a quick hug. "Make sure you get any last minute practice in when you're on your way there as you won't have the time to do any training once you arrive."

I nodded my head in acknowledgment before she walked out the door and shut it behind her.

Right. Sleep is what I need, as for the past month I'd been staying up late memorising all the information and hadn't got much rest.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I fell straight to sleep.

                                                                                 ~~~~~~~~~~
A banging on my door woke me up and I jumped straight up to open it.
"Get ready, you're leaving in 10." One of the trainers said, before walking off to the next room.
I quickly changed into clothes better fitting for a stealth mission before throwing all my necessities in a bag.
More clothes, some weapons, and the map of the town I was going to be in, together with the audio tapes that had Russian on it so that I could learn more along the way.
I left my room and walked down to the main hall and saw only a few other girls there. All of the others must have been leaving at different times than us.
"Line up!" Said the same woman who had been at my door. "We're leaving now. Go out to the cars and you'll get called into the specific one you're meant to travel in."
We all walked out together, them huddled together around each other, while I stayed off to one side not bothered by the situation.
We stood in a line and got called up one by one and each of us got in our separate cars.
There were no two girls in one car, which was a smart idea as two girls would probably be able to take down the driver, even though they were highly trained.
"Put the blindfold on." The driver said just as I had stepped into the car.
I quickly tied it around my head and sat back ready to go.
The drive took a while and by the time we got to our destination I had lost track of how many different turns we had made or how far we had come.
"Take it off now." The driver said, indicating my blindfold.
I took it off and saw that we were at and airport. We were going to have to fly as Russia was across the water from where I was kept. I hadn't thought about the fact that they had kept us in the same country as I'd just assumed that we were, even though there was no proof. Now I had confirmation that we were.
We exited the car and I followed the driver into the airport like he had told me to.
I wasn't sure how we were going to get past security with my gear but I assumed that they had a plan for that so I wasn't worried at all.
"Where are we going?" I asked, as we were going in a different direction from all the other people flying out.
"Private plane." Was the short answer that I got.
The assassin organisation must be extremely rich to be able to afford all of this with no stress. A private plane, cars for all the girls and a massive underground base that was a few squared miles at the least. The resources it would take to build something like that would've been very hard to gather and then put together while also keeping the contractors who were building it in the dark. Whoever started this organisation was extremely dedicated to the cause.
We walked out of the building and onto the gravel. The private plane was very close so it didn't take very long to get to it.
I was just about to ask who was flying when I saw the driver enter the cockpit and close the door behind him.
I stood staring for a couple of seconds before walking to the back and sitting down in my seat. I was glad that I had brought all my preparation gear as it seemed I would have lots of time to study it all. No one else was on this flight.
I had just put my headphones in and taken out the map of Krasnoyarsk when I felt the plane start to move. It didn't take much longer before we were shooting down the runway and taking flight.
It wouldn't be long before we got to my destination so I needed to do as much as possible before we landed.
I had to work my hardest because who knew what they would do to me and Drew if I failed this task.
