Katie's - POV

Why was he here?

He shouldn't have been here.

This shouldn't be happening.

I froze and thoughts started racing through my mind, muddling me up.

My hesitation was enough to let the other person line his drill up with Hugh's head and start drilling into his skull. Finally his screams were enough to break me from my stupor and I rushed into the room, pulling my daggers out.

I quickly reached towards the man holding the drill's neck with one of the blades and dragged it back across, splitting open his throat.

I spun round to the other man but he was more ready than his partner as he was able to block my slash with his arm.

I felt pure hatred for these people and I needed to finish them off one way or another for having the audacity to do this to my friend.

I sized him up and noticed that his fighting stance was poor and he didn't seem to know how to handle the weapon that he was holding.

I took advantage of this and quickly stepped inside his guard, past his arm that was going for the kill and plunged my knife into the side of his throat, tearing it back out towards me.

I was breathing hard when I finished and finally come to my senses and realised what I had done, but surprisingly, I didn't hold any guilt or an ounce of sympathy for either of my victims.

"Hugh!" I said, sprinting over to him and checking to see if he was okay. "Hugh...?"

I frantically felt the side of his neck for a pulse but there was nothing.

He was dead.

I dropped to the the floor, suddenly weak and my spirit wilted. I felt tear drops rolling down my cheeks and clenched my fists.

How could they kill Hugh and why was he even here? Did he get kidnapped like me or was it something different?

I knew that I would probably never get these questions answered as the two people who could be made willing were no longer on this earth.

Images of the two monsters laughing as they coldly murdered my friend flashed through my mind, reminding me of my failure to save him because I froze like a coward.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket startling me and I scrambled to get it out before anyone could potentially hear it.

"Hello?" I said, not looking at the name on the screen before answering.

"Hey," Drew said, "Is something wrong?"

I had forgotten that I was getting help from Drew during this mission as the events that had just occured were all I could focus on.

She must've noticed that I didn't sound myself at all.

"I went into the target's house as I had a chance when I was just watching it and scouting it out. When I went inside I decided to clear the floors from the bottom and in the basement there were a lot of different rooms so I went into each one to make sure that no one was there..."

I stopped and closed my eyes to try and stop the images of Hugh's dead body, that was right behind me, from flashing through my mind.

"What happened Katie?" She asked, cautiously.

"I found one of my friends from before I was kidnapped being tortured in one of the rooms," I said, letting out a quiet sob into my hands. "Because I was too weak to do anything about it he was killed by them."

"I'm sorry." Drew said, her voice growing more quiet. "You're still inside the house and need to get out qui-."

One glance behind me was all I needed to reject her notion - all the blood, the mess, the bodies strewn about across the room. I couldn't let it end like this. I had to get my revenge on everyone here.

"No!" I answered, suddenly determined. "I'm going to end it all here and now."

I didn't hear anything from the phone for a while and was getting worried that I wouldn't have any of Drew's help on this mission.  Then she spoke.

"Okay, I'll help you," She said. "But be careful. You don't want anything going wrong."

She started telling me everything that she was seeing outside. She had made sure that the alarm inside the house was turned off for a few minutes so no police would turn up whilst I was in the middle of the mission.

Memorising it all quickly I hung up after she had finished and quietly crept upstairs onto the main floor, checking around corners to make sure that no one was there to surprise me. When I finished clearing the ground floor and established no one was there I realised that the target must be upstairs and all the guards had to have followed to the next floor up. Deciding that since no one was on the main stairs or close to it I went up them, thankful that they were covered in carpet making it very hard for anyone to hear me.

I reached the top of the stairs and checked each side, noting a guard with his back to me on my left and no one on my right.

Taking out all the guards would be my best bet as I didn't want anyone to be able to fight back or alert help on the outside.

Sneakily, I inched towards him, taking in the gun that was strapped over his shoulder. Looking at his clothes reminded me of the two people that tortured my friend which quickly brought an uncontrollable rage to the surface and I quickly stabbed the guard in the side of the neck, slashing it across and cutting his throat open.

I felt a tingle of excitement as I watched his body drop to the floor, lifeless and bloody. A small smile grew on my face as I realised that I was capable of killing every last one of the people responsible for my friends death and there was nothing that anyone in this house could do to stop me.
