Katie's - POV

I felt the plane shudder as it hit the ground and we landed.

The flight didn't take as long as I thought but I was still able to get a decent amount of work done in that time.

It took a few more minutes before we were at a full stop and by that time I had repacked my bag and was ready and waiting to go.

"I'm going to drive you to the place you're staying and then leave." The driver said as he exited the plane with me in tow.

We went through the airport and into the parking lot outside that held the car we were leaving in. I got in and scanned the surrounding area as we drove along, hoping to memorise as much as possible if anything went wrong.

Before I knew it an hour had passed and we had arrived at the house I was staying at.

It was a run down little house out of the way and inconspicuous. No one would think to look here.

I got out of the car, taking my bag with me, and watched as my driver drove away. I wanted to get ready as fast as possible so I quickly went inside the house to unpack all my necessary gear.

The inside of the house was much better than the outside, although it still wasn't great. There was a lot of dust here and it seemed like no one had lived in this house for years.

After putting my bag down I walked around the house to get a better feel of it. Even though it was small I wanted to know every nook and cranny just in case.

There was nothing much in the house except for a few shelves, draws, a computer and a router for the wifi. In the kitchen there was a little cooler that had some food and drink in it but it looked like I was going to have to get some more if I was to be here for more than a day or two, which was probably going to be the case.

There were no bulbs, which I actually appreciated, as some light in a house which hadn't been used for a long time could draw suspicion and end up hindering me. I wasn't about to let the mission get ruined by something so simple.

I decided that since it was night time right now, it would be the best time to go out exploring the town and scouting out the house of my target.

I changed into all black clothes and made sure to put my daggers into the hidden sheaths in my trousers.

Having left the safe house I realised how dark it actually was and wished that I had something to help me see better in the night. There was nothing I could do though so I had to continue to try and get this over with as soon as possible.

Since I had memorised the map of this town I had no trouble traversing the area while staying out of sight at all times.

I was being very cautious so it took double the time to complete the mile long journey compared to if I was just walking there normally. In the end I didn't see anyone and no one saw me so it could be looked at as a waste of time, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I then arrived at the house - I shouldn't call it a house - it was a mansion.

Gated off from anyone else was the four story mansion with massive windows either side of the double front doors. The garden outside was perfectly cut and the house, perfectly clean. The complete opposite from all the other houses surrounding it and in the rest of the city.

I knew that my target was highly valued so they would definitely have security that would be triggered if I jumped over the gate so I needed another option.

Almost as if I had been heard, one of the staff members walked out, locking the gate electronically. She walked away in the opposite direction to me, oblivious to my presence.

I quickly shifted spots so it was harder to see me, crouched down and quickly but quietly moved towards her. When I got up to her I wrapped an arm around her neck and squeezed, making sure that I didn't do it too hard as I didn't want to kill her.

Very quickly she was out cold. I took the badge, went over to the door and swiped it.

I knew that I had to be quick because very soon people would realise that I wasn't who I claimed to be. I didn't have time to switch uniforms or prepare one as I hadn't expected this opportunity this quickly.

The front door was already unlocked and so I peeked around and as I saw no one, I stepped in.

The inside was as lavish as the outside or maybe even more.

A massive golden chandelier was at the center, with two spiral staircases on either side. The floor was luckily heavily carpeted otherwise I would've had a really hard time keeping as quiet as possible.

Since there was no one around I decided to go from the bottom up to the top of the house. The door to the basement was in full view and it seemed less risky than going straight to the top, which was most likely more heavily guarded.

I silently opened the door and slipped down into the dim depths of the basement.

The basements sheer magnitude shocked me as I had expected it to be a relatively small place with one or two small side rooms but this was huge and had enough extra rooms that it could be a house on its own.

I needed to check all of the doors to make sure everything was clear as I couldn't just burst right in. So I put my ear to the first door and listened. After a while I was sure that the coast was clear so I noiselessly opened the door, peeked around it and found a cell like room with nothing but a metal table at the center. The whole room was soaked with blood and reeked of death so I quickly closed it and moved onto the next one.

After seeing a few more rooms relatively in the same state, I heard something from the next door. There were screams so loud that it was like they were next to me.

I cracked open that door to take a peek and was horrified at what I saw.

Inside was a guy being torutured by two people in all black. The one on the right had a drill in his hand and the one on the left was currently using plyers to pull out the mans teeth.

When I saw his face my horror changed to pure fear.

It was Hugh.
