Chapter 9

Eugeo's POV

It was the middle of the night, there was a small window above my head, on the wall, which let in a beam of moonlight.
I was crying, why you might ask? Because they had came back, the nightmares... this one was particularly bad. I didn't want to think about it, but I just couldn't stop.
It was about Kirito again, in this dream he was killed... horrendously, he was tortured and manipulated right in front of my eyes. It was the integrity knights that were doing this to him, they used his blood to paint my skin with mocking words. Insulting the way we where... words I hadn't heard being said in a long time, things like 'Faggot' and, a very old insult, 'Poof'.
I know it was just a dream... but it felt so real, and it hurt me a lot.
To see Kirito like that, not fighting. And letting insults like that being thrown around.
I felt more tears roll down my cheeks, they flowed continuously, and I was unable to stop them. My body started shaking and I had to stop myself from screaming out loud.
I was having a panic attack, I used to get them a lot, before I met Kirito. He seemed to calm me down, just by being there and me being able to trust him so much helped me.
I couldn't hold it in anymore, and I started to cry out loud, my voice croaked, and I was a very loud mess. I heard Kirito move on his bed opposite mine, he sat up and turned his body towards me.
I couldn't look at him, the thoughts were still lingering inside my head, I just want Kirito to be okay and my pathetic nightmares are not making this any better.
"E-Eugeo are you alright?!" Kirito whisper shouted, very concerned. He stood up, but was unable to move any closer to me, I finally got the courage to look up at him. My vision still blurry from the tears, I could tell he was okay.
My heart rate slowed down slightly, not completely to its normal pace, but I was no longer panicking as much.
"I just had another nightmare Kirito. It was about you... I'm s-sorry Kirito, I'm such a mess. I'm just worried about what's going to happen to us." I blurted out, my tiredness took the best of me and I was too lazy to lie about anything.
I struggled with wiping my tears away, and looked at Kirito again. Only to see him smiling...
"Eugeo, you don't have to worry. I've thought of a way out of here... You see the durability of these chains? The only thing high enough to destroy them would be the chains themselves... So..." Said Kirito, he started fiddling around with the chains, wrapping one around the other. Except it failed... I laughed slightly, then I stood up aswell.
"Try and wrap them around mine and we'll pull as hard as we can." I whispered, still very shaken from the dream I was still coming out of.
"That's a good idea..." said Kirito, laughing slightly.
"Alright, let's do this... Three! Two! One!" I said, and we pulled the chains as hard as we could.

- Timeskip to after they break out the cell -

After we broke out, we ran down a long corridor. Our bodies were close together as we exited out of a large door. We opened the door only to see a large garden, this place was amazing! The most rarest of flowers grew here, and they looked even better in the night sky.
I looked over at Kirito, who also looked good, especially when lit by the moon. I blushed, remembering everything we had been through to get here, I didn't notice how long I was staring until Kirito poked me in the cheek.
"Yo Eugeo, you spacing out a bit? We still have to keep moving." Kirito whispered gently, smiling.
I then snapped back into reality, we started to walk forwards.
Thank god we're not running anymore!
It was a peaceful place to walk through, and it was even nicer to be here with Kirito... right after a prison break. We where slightly far apart, so I attempted at closing the distance between us. But Kirito seemed to have exactly the same idea, at exactly the same time. And we end up awkwardly bumping into each other... I blushed madly and felt embarrassed, but when I felt his hand wrap around my own, I felt safe...
The walk continued to be peaceful and we where nearing the exit, I found it hard to believe it was that easy to break out of that prison. I also had a weird feeling we were being watched, I looked up at Kirito, who was looking forward and had picked up his pace slightly. We started to get closer to the exit, and I heard Kirito speak.
"When I say so, run as fast as you can." He whispered. I didn't ask why, I just nodded. I could tell something was wrong though, and Kirito must have felt the same way.
It continued being silent and I waited for Kirito's command to start running, we opened a gate that led us to a straight path which had the exit directly in front of it.
It looked like the perfect place for an ambush, I waited for Kirito to say something, or just do something. We walked very slowly down the straight path, at about midway Kirito started walking a little faster. I knew he was going to tell me to run anytime soon.
It was a very stressful situation and I had an urge to ask him what was going on, but Kirito then stopped. Very suddenly, a few meters away from the exit. He looked towards me, moving his hand away from mine, but instead moved it up to my face. Cupping my cheek in his hand, he pulled me forward gently but swiftly. He put his lips onto mine, I could basically feel the spark that was between us... I kissed back, slowly and seductively, placing my hand on his chest. It was a very heated moment, my heart was beating like crazy and my face was a hot red.
He pulled away and looked me in the eyes, smiling ever so slightly.
"If anything goes wrong here... promise you won't forget me, and to never stop trying." Kirito whispered.
I was confused and worried, I moved my vacant hand around his neck and pulled him into a tight hug. I felt his hands slide around my waist and rub my back comfortingly.
"Kirito, I could never forget you. And I am sure nothing will go wrong... in fact I promise everything will be okay." I replied, also whispering.
There was a few moments of silence as we enjoyed the sweet embrace, I pulled away slowly and looked in his eyes.

"Run Eugeo." He said.
