Chapter 12

Kirito's POV

Me and Eugeo had already started walking, having finished our food very quickly. We had a long way to walk, and it would probably take us a good few hours.
Right now we were walking through an empty field, a small path going through the middle which we weren't walking on. I decided to take us what I thought to be a shortcut through a forest. It was a nice place though, there were flowers all over the floor mostly blue ones. The air smelled sweet, and the shade that was given by the trees was more comforting than the hot summer sun. I looked towards Eugeo who seemed to be enjoying the sight as well, I saw him bend over and pick a small flower. I smiled at how adorable and childish he looked, Eugeo then walked over to me with the flower. He started to raise his hand towards my head, and I felt him place the flower in my hair.
I laughed slightly, and averted my eyes, blushing.
I reached for his hand, and we carried on walking through the thick grass and flowers.
We hadn't even been walking that long, and Eugeo had already started complaining.
"How long left...?" He sighed, slouching slightly.
I laughed at him, and squeezed his hand slightly, making him blush.
"Eugeo we have ages left... we've literally been walking for twenty minutes." I answered, trying not to feel sorry for him. Eugeo groaned and stood back up straight, looking over at me. We didn't speak for a while after that, Eugeo was most likely trying to retain his energy.
Up ahead I saw a small stream, and I could mildly hear it flowing down through the rocks and pebbles. We walked up to it and I cupped my hands to try and get a drink from it, the refreshing water made me feel rejuvenated! I saw Eugeo do the same, and he sat down on a large rock. I suddenly had the urge to push him in... should I...? I smiled to myself, mischievously, and walked over to Eugeo. I placed both of my hands on his shoulders, and he didn't suspect a thing... I then pulled him up, and made him stand next to me.
"Kirito what are you—"
Was the last thing he said before I pushed him forwards, and he started to fall into the river. I almost started laughing, but then I felt him grab onto my sleeve... dragging me into the river with him. This wasn't the best of ideas.... I sat up, my body was completely soaked except from my shoulders up. I looked over to Eugeo to see him the same, I then started to laugh painfully hard. I felt a bit of relief when Eugeo joined me with the laughing, we stayed in the water for a good few minutes just laughing with each other.
I looked upwards, admiring the blue sky, there wasn't a cloud in sight. The sun was already trying to dry my wet clothes, that's how hot it was, but sitting in this shallow river with Eugeo was pretty nice. I was no longer sweating, and felt a bit more hydrated than just drinking the water. I slowly got up and offered a hand to Eugeo, helping him up from his sitting position. Our laughter had simmered down, and we were now just smiling, enjoying the moment.
Our fun ended as we continued our journey west, back to the little house we now owned together.

Eugeo was complaining again.
"Eugeo will you shut up...!" I said, jokingly, but seriously. I flicked him in the head and he pouted at me in response, making me blush.
So cute...!
After telling him to stop complaining, he did.
For a short time...
We had only been walking for another ten minutes, that's when Eugeo spoke.
"I can't take this any longer...! The heat is killing me and I'm so tired." He mumbled, adding a tired groan to the end. I was starting to get more and more annoyed, but I mean, he had a point.
I stopped walking, making Eugeo stop as well. I looked him dead in the eye. I walked a bit closer and stood a few inches away from him, I bent down and moved my hand behind his knees, lifting them up slightly, putting my other arm around the back of his shoulders. Picking him up bridal style, giving him a death glare at the same time.
"If you're going to act like a child, I'm going to treat you like a child. Shut the hell up." I mumbled, blushing ever so slightly at the position we were in. Eugeo blushed brightly, looking down at his lap, making my heart skip a beat... I defiantly couldn't stay angry at him for more than three seconds.
I walked in silence, and I slightly enjoyed carrying Eugeo around, he was very light... and just the sight of him pressed up against my chest was enough to make me go crazy.
"T-Thanks Kirito... for carrying me." Mumbled an embarrassed Eugeo, I looked down at his flushed face and chuckled.
"Oh Eugeo... you don't know the half of it." I replied, leaning down towards his face. Kissing his forehead gently.

- Timeskip to three hours later -

We were now both very tired, I had stopped carrying Eugeo about an hour ago, as our wet clothes weren't drying when they were pressed against each other. We looked at our surroundings, and there I saw it. Our little house, in the distance, was still a thirty minute walk. But knowing that we had made it back home was a relief, I looked over to Eugeo who seemed to notice the house as well.
"Hey Eugeo, you actually made it." I laughed out, making Eugeo sigh and laugh back slightly.
We were holding hands once again, glad to know that we had each other after everything we had been through.
This was a long journey, and after this all I wanted to do was spend my life with Eugeo...
Everything about him made me feel amazing, his eyes, hair, smile...
Eugeo never used to smile according to the rumours I heard... but now he is always smiling.

And I couldn't be more happier to be the reason why.
