Amethyst helped me get accustomed to the house. It was small, but homey. It reminded me of my apartment, but it was much nicer.

"Hey Amethyst?" I said as she walked by me in the living room.

"Yeah?" She asked, stopping in her tracks.

"When am I allowed to go home?" I asked her.

"I... dont know. Till Pearl thinks your safe I guess." Amethyst said, shrugging.

She preceded to walk into the kitchen and stuff her face with whatever food they had. I let out a groan and stood up, walking to the front door, craving a donut.

"Where do you think you're going?" I heard Pearls shrill voice yell out as I laid my hand on the knob.

"See Garnet? I knew she was going to run! I knew it! We need to restrain her, now!" Pearl screamed, her neurotic personality really begining to get on my nerves.

Garnet on the other hand just stood there, silently watching me and Pearl.

"I'm just getting a donut. Chill." I said calmly, trying to de-escilate the situation.

"Donuts? You dont need to eat-" Pearl began before I cut her off.

"But I like to. And I'm craving a donut right now." I said, silencing her.

"I-Well- take Amethyst with you! Amethyst, watch her and make sure she doesn't do anything!" Pearl barked out.

Amethyst groaned, but still got up to leave with me. It was better than nothing. Content with the outcome, Pearl let us leave to go to the donut shop. The walk there was serene and calm, well, besides the very talkative gem who would cut in during any silence I got.

I decided before I got a donut that I'd explore the town a bit more, considering I hadn't been able to explore it for a few years or so. The beach was first, I walked up and down it multiple times before a certain gem decided to speak up.

"Can we go to the donut shop now? This is boring!" Amethyst complained.

I just sighed and complied with her demands. On the way to the donut shop I saw Lars exiting the shop, taking out the trash. I immediately hid in an alley between two buildings.

"What are you doing?" Amethyst asked, looking at me like I was crazy.

"I'm hiding! Shh!" I shushed her as I also pulled her into the alley.

"From what?" She whispered.

I poked my head out of the alley, no longer seeing Lars. I let out a sigh.

"Ohhh, you're hiding from the donut guy?" Amethyst questioned.

"Lars, and yes." I corrected her.

She let out an enormous laugh.

"Its not like he can do anything! He's a human, and a really wimpy one too!" Amethyst laughed louder than before.

"Amethyst! Stop, that's rude." I said, shushing her once again.

I snuck around, looking at the shop for a bit before I decided to enter. I made it to the door, looked at the still broken window and... well, then I froze.

What would Lars and Sadie think of me? How was I going to explain to them what happened? Thoughts flooded my mind and before I could do or say anything, I hit the ground with a large thump. I looked up to be met with apologetic eyes.

"(Y/n)?" He brought me back to attention, by waving a hand in front of my face.

I scrambled to get up.

"I-I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." I immediately began to apologize.

He didn't even respond to me, he just walked back into the shop after saying something along the lines of "Just go." I was confused, so I followed him, asking follow up questions.

"What do you mean go? I'm here to get a donut." I said, following him back into the store.

"I mean, leave!" He yelled, his voice cracking a bit.

"Lars..." I began, at a loss for words.

"Leave! Now!" He yelled, pointing to the door.

I hung me head, but still didnt budge.

"Lars. I'm sorry." I choked out.

"I don't care, you almost killed us!" He yelled.

"Lars, that wasnt me!" I screamed, losing my temper.

"Well who was it then?!" Lars yelled back, out voices progressivly getting louder.

Tears began to flow out of my eyes. Lars wouldn't understand. He would never understand. He was just a human, he'd never fully understand gem stuff. Lars mustve seen my tears because his eyes widened.

"I-I'm sorry! I mean, I guess... I can forgive you or whatever." Lars said, crossing his arms and trying to act unnafected while he stole worried glances at me.

I didn't even respond to him, I just launched myself at him and enveloped him in a hug. I felt him tense up for a second before eventually hugging me back.

"Hey, I'm sorry. Don't cry. Please." Lars whispered in my ear as I clung onto his shirt.

I let out a few last sniffled as we broke our hug. Lars held me by the shoulders, looking deep into my eyes.

"Can I just get a donut now?" I laughed out through my watery eyes.

"Of course, (your favorite donut)?" Lars asked, making his way back to the counter.

I just nodded, he always knew what I wanted. I followed him to the counter and he handed me my donut. I tried to pay him but he pushed my hand away.

"Its uh, its on the house." He said, smiling at me.

"Oh... thank you." I said, returning his smile.

I turned around to find a very awkward looking Amethyst standing by the door.

"Uh, are we going now?" She asked, sounding uncomftorable.

"Yeah." I said as we left the store.

"Never, speak about what you saw back there." I told Amethyst, earning a laugh from her.

"I'm serious!" I whined, only furthering her for of laughter.

I just sighed and shook my head as we got back to the cabin.
