walking down the same path, he entered the antique store for the second time.

"back again so soon?" said eunha from behind the counter.

"i got into a fight with my parents this morning. i didn't want to see anyone. you're an exception, i guess." hyunjin said.

instead of going straight upstairs he looked around the shop. "this is nice." he says, picking up a small golden pendant. the design engraved into it resembled something between a clock and the sun.

"oh that, keep it." said eunha.

"can i?" he asked to make sure. for the first time something was just given to him and he didn't have to work or beg for it.

eunha nods her head, "you'll be able to come here whenever you want with that. just go somewhere you won't be seen, close your eyes, think of the magic shop and ta-da! you're here."

he put it into his pocket and made his way up to the second floor. eunha joined him a couple of minutes later holding two mugs, handing one of them to hyunjin.

he sighed, looking out, "i could never ever get tired of this."

"you won't; well, at least i still haven't." eunha replies.

"hey, how long have you been working here? how did you start working here?" he asked her.

"i've been here a while. my parents weren't very good ones and on my way back from a part time job i found this place and fell in love. i went back home, packed my bags and stayed. the owner let me manage the shop." she explains.

"do you ever think of coming back? to the real world i mean."

she pursed her lips before answering, "i don't know. i've been here since i was sixteen so it's been two years. time passed faster than i expected."

"what about your friends? don't you miss them?"

she scoffed. "i don't have any. i was the outcast in school and i'm introverted so socializing isn't really my thing. i talk to some people here and there but never really had a clique or somewhere i belonged."

"what did you do about education?"

"i continued to teach myself. the owner got me books for me to self study. he tutors me too sometimes. my grades weren't the best so no one really paid attention or expected anything from me."

hyunjin wanted to help her, but where would he even start? she had nobody to begin with and is still alone. he decided the best he could do was to become her friend.

"how does this place even exist?" he asked, changing the subject.

eunha smiled at him, "magic."

he scoffed, "you're funny."

"what's funnier is that you think i'm kidding. how else is a building gonna float around in space? how is the owner 170 years old but still looks like he's in his mid 20s?" she reasoned.

"i- i dont—"

"magic."

giving in, hyunjin says "okay then. i believe you."
