"eunha, i have a question." said hyunjin.
"what's up?" eunha replies.
"you said the shop was there for people who needed it right?"
she nods her head, "correct."
"korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and is well known for the educational strain they put on kids. when i got here you said it's been a while since someone came here. aren't there other people that need this place?"
eunha closes the book she was reading and looks up at him, "what if i told you there was more than one shop? i think the owner mentioned there was at least six others in seoul alone, and this shop wasn't made for helping others."
hyunjin furrows his eyebrows, "it's not? what do you mean?"
"the owner isn't human. these antiques are magical artifacts that are sold to other beings and creatures like him. he wanted to use the shop for something other than that so he made it as a place for people like us. and now because of him, there's more. the shop is meant to bring comfort, to help us feel safe. it doesn't prevent death, and messing with time and human life isn't a good idea." she explained
he sighed thinking about a classmate that committed suicide last year. they weren't close at all, but he couldn't help but think about him after finding the shop.
"hey eunha, have you heard of a kid named—" hyunjin was interrupted when the bells that hung above the door jingled.
"welcome to the byeoljari— oh, mr. seokjin!" exclaimed eunha. was he one of the beings that were like the owner?
"hello eunha. is namjoon not here again?" said the man called seokjin.
eunha shook her head. "he's away, is there anything you need?"
"ah yes, i'm looking for a music box."
eunha leaves the counter and walks towards the shelves at the end of the store, returning with a music box in her hands. "is this what you were looking for?"
"yes, thank you eunha." said seokjin, pulling out an envelope from his suit pocket.
seokjin turns to hyunjin, "what's your name, kid?"
"hwang hyunjin." he replied. "your first time here?"
hyunjin shook his head, "i've been here before."
seokjin smiled, "come more often, eunha needs the company."
"hey! no i—" before eunha could finish her sentence seokjin disappeared. she sighed, "he always does that."
she pulled a drawer out, putting the envelope inside.
"another shop owner?" he asked, and eunha nods her head. "hey, what were gonna say before?"
hyunjin shook his head, "never mind. it's nothing."
