The tension between Gerard and I had been growing the longer we were in the car. He tried talking to me a few times, but each attempt I would ignore. There were a few times I wanted to respond, but I needed to get my point across.

I made a mistake last night letting Gerard cuddle me. No, I didn't let him; I made him. I physically pulled him back down to my side after he kissed me and cuddled into his side. I'm a fucking dumbass, but it's hard to not have those feelings for him after being in that relationship with him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really, really loved him. It was at the point where if he'd asked me to move away with him before I found out like he had planned, I would have said yes. Maybe it was because I had been lonely so long that I needed the feeling of love and affection in my life. Or maybe he really did just have that affect over me. Whatever it was, I was head over heels for him.

And a part of me still is. How can you not look at his face and feel your heart melt? Those piercing hazel eyes and fair skin tone. Though his hair was jet black when I was with him, he still somehow makes my heart burn with his fire engine red locks. How can one man be so attractive???

I couldn't stop myself from constantly looking at him from my peripherals. He really does have an amazing profile. I watched as he struggled with keeping his hair out of his face. No matter how many times he would flip it to the side, it would fall back in front of his eyes. It was really cute.

Having enough heartthrob for now, I reached over and tucked the strand of hair behind his ear. Gerard looked over at me with a cocky smile, in which I refused to look at.

"Thank you...Sugar." He added the nickname a few seconds later, waiting for my reaction. I knew my cheeks were slightly red, but I refused to acknowledge it. After a few seconds of me staring ahead at the highway, Gerard sighed. "You know, technically you're still my girlfriend."

I snapped my head over to him and raised an eyebrow. We talked about this at dinner I had thought.

"Yeah, you are so don't look at me like that." Gerard added with a smirk.

"I thought we had already talked about this at dinner." I replied, tucking my legs underneath of me. I turned my head to look away from him.

"We did. I had said the same thing, and you said, and I quote, 'Am I?'. I replied saying yes, and you never said anything after that. You never broke up with me, meaning you're still my girlfriend." Gerard looked more than proud at his memory, and at the fact that I'm still technically his girlfriend. Technically.

"And your point is?"

"I have none. Just wanted to remind you." He winked at me before turning to look back ahead of him. That bastard.

"Are you saying you want me to break up with you?" I crossed my arms over my chest and turned to look at him. Gerard shook his head.

"Not at all." Gerard, without looking at me, reached over and grabbed my hand from across my chest and held it in his. I tried tugging it away, but he held a tight grip on it, "Princess." He added once his hand was fully clasped around mine. My face heated up which he undoubtedly saw judging by the smirk on his face. There were many things I wanted to do to this man, ranging from Patrick Swazeying him, to throwing him onto a bed and fucking him all night. Right now, I tried my hardest to shove the latter out of my mind.

~^~^~^~

The day carried on, stopping here and there for gas, food, rests, etc. Gerard attempted a few more times to talk to me, a couple of them succeeding. I really didn't want to talk to him, but at the same time all I wanted to do was talk to him. Once again, Gerard is literally mind fucking me.

Oranges and pinks colored the sky as night approached. We were still on a highway heading to Cali. Gerard squinted his eyes as he looked at the next exit's sign. He soon began shifting lanes so he could make the next exit. Once we were in the right lane, Gerard pulled off the highway and shops started coming into view.

"What are you doing?" I asked, looking around the area.

"Looking for a hotel to stay in." He replied. I nodded my head and didn't say anything else. After driving for a few more minutes, Gerard pulled into the first hotel he say. Something Inn, I didn't bother reading the sign. He put the car in park and sighed. "Go in and get us a room."

"Why do I have to?" Slight sass rose in my tone.

Gerard sounded a little exasperated, "Because I don't want to risk getting recognized." He handed me some cash and motioned to the hotel, "And don't try anything. I'm watching you Sugar."

"I'm your girlfriend, remember? I'm not supposed to turn you in." I mocked him before opening the car door.

Walking up to the front desk, I did consider turning him in. Telling her that there was a wanted criminal in the parking lot, telling her his name and description. Oh wait, no one knows who A.W. is but me. Well shit.

"How can I help you?" The lady at the front desk asked with a perky smile. That makes one of us.

"Uh, can I get a room with two beds?" I questioned awkwardly. Even though I'm a cop, I'm still awkward when it comes to talking to people.

"Are you expecting someone else?" She began typing on her keyboard and grabbed me a key card.

"Y-Yeah. He's out right now." I someone lied. The lady nodded and handed the card to me. "Thank you."

"Of course! You're room number is number thirteen on flour eight." I nodded walked outside to my car. Gerard was sitting there, tapping his fingers to whatever was playing on the radio. I tapped my knuckles against the window, causing him to jump slightly.

"Jesus you scared me." Gerard held his hand to his chest as his heart rate slowed. "Did you get a room?"

I showed him the card and opened the back door to grab my bag. Gerard grabbed the key from me, then did the same to get his bag. He slung his bag over his back, then took mine from me.

"Thanks." I mumbled and shut the car's doors. Gerard smirked and wrapped his free arm around my waist.

"No problem Sugar." He kissed the side of my head. I shot a glare up to him, only making him smirk harder.

As we passed the lady at the front desk, I tried my hardest not to look at her. I don't need her questioning me about the room situation, so I kept my head down. Gerard looked at her and winked. I followed his gaze to see her blushing. Feeling slightly pissed, I elbowed him in the ribs.

"Oh now you want me to yourself?" He raised an eyebrow at me. I rolled my eyes and pressed the button to the elevator. Within seconds, the doors opened to an empty capsule. Gerard and I stepped into the elevator and I pressed the 'eight' key. Being the asshole he is, Gerard pressed the 'stop' button on the elevator, causing it to jerk to a stop.

"What the hell was that for?" I asked, reaching over to start it up again. Gerard pulled my arm to my side and dropped his bags. He cornered me and stared down at me. "Gerard what are you do-"

Gerard cut me off by pressing his lips to mine roughly. I put my hands up to his chest to push him away, but as soon as he wrapped his arms around my frame, I decided to just rest them there.

The latter part from earlier was kicking in.

And that part was taking control of me. I wanted to push him off of me, but I wanted the kiss to continue at the same time. It wasn't until he slipped his tongue into my mouth that I came back to my senses.

I firmly pushed my hands against his chest, causing him to fly off of me. He had a look in his eyes that showed he clearly was enjoying that.

"What the fuck was that for!?" I yelled angrily.

"Oh come on, like you didn't like it." Gerard pushed his hair over his head and leaned against one of the rails attached the the mirrored wall.

"That's besides the point! Why would you do that if you know I'm pissed at you!?"

"To make you not pissed at me?" He replied, obviously making it up on the spot. I rolled my eyes with a huff and pressed the stop button once again to make the elevator continue. A few long seconds later, we were on out floor and I marched out of the elevator.
