Part 9

Katie and Achilles strolled hand and hand down the sidewalk several hours later. It had taken most of the morning to get out of bed. By the time they had gotten dressed, lunch was upon them. A quick decision was made to walk across the river and eat at Subway.

They were now exploring the town. Katie let Achilles decide where to go. So far they had just wandered down some streets in an aimless manner. The sun was warm, but not super hot. It would never be as hot or bright as the sun was in Achilles' native Greece.

"What shall we do with the rest of our day?"

Achilles' words intruded on Katie's inner ramblings. She smiled up at him. "I am content to do this. We could go to the lake if you want or back to the room."

A wicked light entered Achilles' gaze. "And what shall we do in the room."

Katie shrugged and struggled not to blush. "Well, we could watch some tv or pop in one of the movies we brought."

Achilles contemplated that. "I am up for either of those, but can we do it naked."

Katie rolled her eyes at Achilles as she laughed. "I have a feeling that I will be naked around you a lot."

The smile Achilles gave Katie was one that she'd seen him give many a time when they had been playing cards with some of his wealthy friends. It was the one that said that he had the upper hand.

"Since we don't have to worry about anyone walking in on us, I plan on keeping you as naked as possible."

"I'm not complaining. I want to keep you naked myself."

They were interrupted as Katie's phone rang. She pulled it out and hit the green button. "Hey Jackie."

"How's it going?"

Katie gave Achilles a wide grin. "Amazing. Achilles and I are busy exploring. Right now we are headed back to the Cottage House to watch some tv or pop in a movie."

"Uh huh." Jackie didn't sound fooled. "Is that all you've been up to?"

"Let's just say that I hope no one heard us last night."

"Katie!"

"What?" Katie said on a laugh. "I bet you've thought the same thing with your boyfriend."

Jackie laughed on the other end of the line. "Yes. That's why we don't have sex at the house."

"Did you just call to find out if Achilles and I slept together?"

"No." Jackie denied quickly. "I just wanted to see how you were doing. I'm trying to get the rest of the family to listen to you ultimatum, but you know how stubborn they are."

Katie snorted but didn't say anything.

"If they don't come around, then I am going to give them my ultimatum."

Those words struck Katie's interest. "And what's that."

"That if you leave, then I am gone too. I don't want to lose touch with you Katie. You are what made my childhood bearable. Sure, I wasn't treated like you were, but out of us children I was second to last. You know how the boys' always come first."

"Don't remind me," Katie said with a roll of her eyes. "Good luck on knocking some sense into them."

"Thanks and don't have too much fun down there."

Katie gave Achilles a look which made his eyes heat up with desire. "You can never have too much fun."

Achilles didn't speak till Katie hung up the phone. "How's Jackie?"

"Good." Katie said as she slipped her phone back in her pocket. "She's just trying to talk some sense into our family."

"I hope she does."

"Me too," Katie said on a sigh.
