Chapter 14

I woke up to my alarm going off, I groaned as I rolled onto my side to turn off the alarm off. I tapped the stop button on my phone, then sat up. I rubbed my eyes sleepily and looked over on the bed to see Jesse still sound asleep. I wonder how he gets up for work because he's a deep sleeper. I got off the bed and headed towards to kitchen.

When I got there I got a bowl, spoon, milk, and some cereal, then started eating.

After I was finished I went back to Jesse's room to find that he was still sleeping, he had his arm covering half over his face which only showed his nose and closed eyes while his hair was ruffled, I melted at the sight. I changed into my one piece bathing suit and put my sunscreen on. After that I put cloths over top then walked to the front door and put on some thongs then looked at the clock that was in the kitchen and it was 8:37  Phew I have three minutes to spare not including the 29 minute ride there.

When I got to the aquatic centre I went to the change room, it was completely empty, I guess I'm the only girl. I shrugged off the thought and took my cloths off to reveal my black one piece, then put my hair up, then my swim cap on and goggles. I got out the change room and saw a whole bunch of man lined up in the lanes and no girls. I saw all the Bondi lifeguards wet and sitting on the the benches. I looked over to see Deano and Hoppo were waiting for all the new comers to get ready.

I walked over "Good morning Hoppo, good morning Deano." I greeted over the loud chatter

"Good morning darling, You ready?" Deano asked

"Yup!"

"That's good. Okay everyone first people in line stand on the block." Everyone listened as they stood on the block. I was in the last row of people, nervously waiting for our turn.

I came to the last row which I was in, "Okay everyone on there blocks!" Deano shouted. "And go!" Deano blew a whistle.

I graciously dived in and started my front stroke.

I finished with my hands on the bar of the standing block, completely out of breath.

"How..how did I do?.."

"You had 5 seconds to spare, your fast." Deano said as he looked that the stop watch.

"Oh good.."

After everyone else was done and had a break Hoppo blew the whistle to get everyone attention. "Okay now its time for the next test for the new comers!"

When Hoppo, Deano and everyone got to the Beach the sky was blue and the sun was shining, was a beautiful day, perfect for the fitness test.

Everyone gathered around Deano, "Starting on this line here, swimming out round the can, come in and get a board, out round the can and then do the run and do the course twice okay?" Everyone nodded in response.

"Go!" Harries yelled as he clapped his hands together.

We all ran in the water and started swimming.
