Chapter 43

Vanessa's P.O.V

I totally wonder what their talking about." I said as I watched Jake and Lily talk, "I'm going to have to asked Maxi when she leaves."

"Vanessa she totally did a southern accent!" I heard Maxi's excited voice

I laughed, "Really? That's awesome!"

"Right! Anyways talk to ya after work." He radioed,

I giggled, "Alright Trent Maxi Maxwell."  I radioed back then continued to look out to the water.

I took the binoculars off, "Phew, is it hot in her or is it just me?" I asked fanning my chest by using my shirt to let cold air in.

"No.. I feel fine. What about you Ryan?"

"No I'm fine." He shrugged,

"Oh, well it feels like it's 100 degrees in here..." I said fanning my body with my shirt, I went to get a drink if my water only to see that it was empty. "Oh, I gotta get another one." I got up, feeling the word sway before me. "Woah.," I mumbled putting my hand on the wall beside me.

"You okay?" Harrison asked

"Yeah, just got a little dizzy that's all.." I pushed myself off the wall and headed over to the fridge for a new bottle of cool water.

I swallowed hard as my breathing grew shorter, all sounds seem to drown out, my eyes slowly went from left to right, the world  swayed before me again. I grabbed onto the rail of the steps, "Harrison.. I feel like I'm gonna,. Fa-" it felt as if my body just shut down, everything went black, but I felt everything.

Harrison 's P.O.V

I heard a thudding, "What the hell?"  I whipped around to see Vanessa tumble down the steps, "Vanessa!" I quickly ran over. Ryan got up puffing his chest out, I stopped him. "No you stay there, someone has to patrol the tower. I got this."

I looked to see Vanessa half on the floor and half on the steps with a bloody nose. "Shit!" I muttered, I quickly ran down the steps and kneed beside her. I listened for her breathing. She was still breathing but it was short breaths, "Shit." I felt her pulse and it was rapid, "Shit," I rubbed her sternum with my knuckles, no response, "Shit!"

I held the button on my walkie as I felt her pulse, "Central to Blue rinos! Vanessa has collapsed and fell down the steps. She has a rapid pulse and has short breaths. I need someone down here now.." I swallowed hard, "I think where going to need an ambulance..." I said worryingly into the walkie, I didn't want to move Vanessa until Deano arrived in worry of the possibility of making the condition worse.

"Okay I'm on my way." I heard Jesse's voice come.

"Ryan call the ambulance!" I shouted over.

"Okay."

"This is Ryan Yerbury a Bondi lifeguard, one of our own has passed out and had fallen down 5 steps. She's a white female in her 20s." Ryan looked at me, "Is she responding?"

I rubbed Vanessa's sternum once again and there was not response, not even a flinch. My breathing was heavy, trying to keep my cool, "No."

"Okay thanks." Ryan hung up the phone, "There on their way." I nodded in response.

"Oh my god Vanessa!" I turned to see a worried Jesse run in beside me. "What happened?!" Jesse asked with worry painted on his face.

"I don't know, she was going to get another water bottle.. Then I heard a thudding and turned around and she was gone."

Jesse just looked at me with an uneasy look, then looked down at Vanessa and rubbed her sternum, "Vanessa? Can you hear me Vanessa?"

I felt nuccules rub my sternum, "Vanessa? Can you here me Vanessa?" Jesse's voice came as the echos fad away after a few seconds. "Vanessa? Can you here me Vanessa?" His voice was now clear as I slowly fluttered my eyes opened.

I groaned, "My head..." I put a hand up to my spinning head. I tried to get up, but Jesse and Harrison stopped me,

"No, no, don't move, just relax." Harrison said laying me down slowly.

"W-what happened?"

He didn't answer, "Does your neck hurt?"

I groaned, "No.."

"But your head does?"

"Yeah..."

"Where?"

I rubbed the back of my head."In daback." I slurred opening my eyes again trying to keep my eyes from closing.

"Okay, do you feel dizzy like your going to faint again?"

"Ya..." My eyes constantly rolled back then straight forwards.

"Can you wiggle your fingers and toes?" Jesse asked. I wiggled them, "Awesome babe, okay now we're going to move you, you need to stay awake so we know if anything hurts."

"Okay...."

Harrison helped keep my head straight as Deano moved me.

Then they set me down on a flat surface. Then got a neck brace and carefully put it on. Harrison grabbed some foil and rapped me to keep me from going into shock. "Did.." I took a second to breathe as another dizzy spell came over me. "Did you, call the ambulance?.." I asked Harrison quietly.

"Yes Ryan did." Harrison said,

"Okay good.." I just let the spinning world take me into its grip.

All sounds were gone as my eyes rolled back into my head once again.

I slowly opened and closed my eyes, trying to focus on what is going on around me.

Everything seem a bright white, "Hey Vanessa?" I heard a female's voice, "Vanessa I need you to stay awake." She told me. The bright white faded from around me to focus on a paramedic siting in front of me along with Jesse and Harrison. I groaned trying to keep my eyes open, I'm so tired... I just want to go to sleep..

Harrison's P.O.V

"Now is your uterus in pain when I press here?" The paramedic asked, What? Uterus? She just fell down some steps and she worried about her uterus?! I didn't say anything. She press Vanessa's uterus lightly, and she groaned a little.

"Yeah it hurts a little bit.." Vanessa replied

"Okay, we're going to have to bring you to the hospital just to check on you and the baby."

I swallowed a hard lump and quickly stood, BABY!? "Huh.." Right there and right then, I fainted.

Vanessa's P.O.V

"Harrison?!" I shouted as I saw him hit the ground, I tried to look at him but the neck brace stopped me.

Jesse just snickered, "Everyone's fainting today."

I laughed, "I guess it's not just me.."
