The New Member

"You got everything?"
"Yep."
"You sure?"
"Yes we are sure now can we please go?" Maegan sighed. Marnelli opened the door, signaling that they could go already. The plan was that they were adopting a dog, a Samoyed to be exact.

Marnelli took the driver's seat, Sasha called shotgun and Maegan sat in the back passenger's seat. The shelter was 35 minutes away from where they were staying and there was zero traffic on the way there, meaning they got there in the time they wanted to be there. Not too far off from the shelter was a pet store, which was a three minute drive away.

Marnelli dropped Sasha off at the shelter so that she could get the dog while she and Maegan got the necessities they need for their new pet at the store. The entire group had discussed before about getting a pet and in the end, they all agreed to adopt a dog. It took some more time to agree on what breed they should get but after a lot of convincing and a 20 minute PowerPoint presentation from Caitlin, it was the final decision to get a Samoyed.

30 minutes later, they all met up at the shelter's parking lot with the things they needed for a dog and the new dog itself. "So, what's its name?" Maegan asked. "I dunno, we need to ask everyone first what they want his name to be. The dog's a boy by the way," Sasha replied. When they arrived home, everyone else was lounging around the living room, minding their own business till they heard the door swing open.

"YOU GUYS WE HAVE A NEW MEMBER!" Marnelli happily announced. Everyone at first was confused until they saw Maegan carry a dog inside and Sasha with two large plastic bags. Maddie immediately rushed up to Maegan who handed the dog to her, then proceeded to play with it. "What's its name?" Maddie asked. "It's a 'he' Maddie, also we did not name him yet since we thought it would be better to decide on it as a group. Plus he is a trained dog," Sasha replied. "How about Astéri?" Alexa said. Everyone turned to her with zero emotion on their faces which caused slight panic to her."Cuz you know, Astéri means star in greek? And astronomy is interesting..." Alexa trailed off. "OMG ASTÉRI I LIKE IT WE'RE KEEPING ASTÉRI!" Jade squealed. "Of course we're keeping him, we just adopted him," Sasha remarked but no one cared.

After a couple of hours of playing with Astéri, it was getting dark so everyone followed the usual night routine but stayed up just a bit later to play with Astéri for a while until some got tired so they went to do their bedtime routines and went to bed. Astéri eventually got tired too and fell asleep on his new bed.

It was Maddie, Maegan, Marnelli and Sasha left in the living room. They stayed up talking about whatever nonsense. At some point, all attention was diverted towards Maegan since she said something particularly intelligent. Maddie used this as the perfect opportunity to get three gold stars from her pocket. When she managed to get them out, she stuck one on each of their foreheads. "Wha- Maddie-" Sasha got cut off. "Thanks for making all of us happy!" Maddie said while still smiling her signature smile. She left the room, tired, and went to sleep leaving the other three to wonder what to do with the stickers. They ended up finding their own old empty notebooks to stick them on.
