"And then her flower wilted and wilted till she wilted too. The end." Maddie at this point was staring at Jade, sadness evident on her expression as she finished her story. "JADE WHY MUST YOU DO THIS?! IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SHIP AND YOU DESTROYED IT!" Maddie screeched. Jade just shrugged and showed Maddie her journal where she kept the the characters' designs and early drafts of the story, which was enough to distract Maddie from the sad soulmate story.
She complimented Jade's work several times and even pointed out the minor details most people didn't see at first. She was really observant. When she was done looking at it all, Jade got her journal back, then felt something stick on her arm. She looked down to see a gold star, then looked back up at Maddie with a confused expression. "It's a gold star for the effort on the story and design," Maddie explained. Jade looked back at the sticker, peeled it off then stuck it on an empty page in her journal. "Thanks Maddie," Jade said. "You're welcome," Maddie replied as she tried to imitate the tune from the song "You're Welcome" from the Moana soundtrack.
Maddie skipped out of the room they were in to check on her other friends. As soon as Jade couldn't see Maddie anymore, she opened her journal again to the page with the gold star. She stared at it for a few moments then pulled out a pen to write.
"May 03, 2019. . .'for the effort on the story + design'----Madeleine Young"
She doodled a few designs around it then packed it away.
