I looked around and saw that it was Jacob that was pulling me towards the surface. As we broke through the surface, an ear-splitting roar broke through the air. A familiar blond ran up with my brother on his heels.
"Get away from her!" Issac roared. His eyes turned yellow and his fangs grew out. He attacked Jacob and started to beat him with a fit of burning anger that I have only seen one other time. The time he thought Derek was dead.
Sam ran over and tried to pull Issac off of Jacob but couldn't. Nothing is more powerful than a beta trying to protect its Alpha. I ignored the pain and pulled myself up off the ground. "ISSAC!" I yelled at him.
Issac stopped mid-punch and looked at me. "That's enough. He wasn't trying to hurt me. He was saving me." I said as my eyes flashed red. Issac lowered his head in submission and nodded. He got up off of Jacob and moved towards the others.
I looked at Jacob and saw the scratches that were down his chest. I moved towards him and took his hand in mine. I could tell he was in pain and that hurt me. I started to pull his pain and he gasped. "How are you doing that?" He asked.
I looked at my pack and made a split-second decision. "Is there a place we're we could talk without prying ears?" I asked. All of a sudden, the pain that I was pulling stopped. I looked at Jacob in shock and saw that his wounds were almost gone.
"What the hell!" I cried as I jumped backward. "It looks like we have much to talk about." Sam said. "I guess so." I replied as I moved to be close to my pack. I kept my eyes on Jacob and his friends and saw a flash of hurt cross his face.
"We have a place where we can talk." Sam said as he looked at all of us. "Lead the way." I said as I moved to stand next to my brother. Sam and the others took off at a slight jog and it was easy for us to keep up. "Amara? What happened? I felt your panic and pain." Derek asked as we followed Sam and his friends.
"We were messing around and I won a bet. I jumped off the cliff and went into the water. As I surfaced, the boys roared and let me know that something was up. In the water with me was a red-haired vampire. I kicked her away from me and took off towards the shore.
As I neared the shore, however, the vamp grabbed my leg and dragged me under, trying to drown me. I fought against her and tried to get away. My head pounded and it made me think of the conversation that Stiles had with Mrs. Morrell.
Just as my body started to shut down, Jacob grabbed me and tried to pull me away from the woman. I used the last of my strength and kicked her off of me. Jacob pulled me to the shore and you know the rest." I said as I looked at Issac.
"I thought you were going to get here tomorrow?" I asked him. "I packed and caught an earlier flight then I thought I would." Issac said. I nodded at this. Then I smelt jealousy coming from Issac. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"You've moved on?" Issac asked. I knew what he was asking about. "Not really. It's hard because she's gone and you left me. The others turned on me when you left. You were literally the only reason that they talked to me." I said.
"Amara, I had no idea. I thought you were going to stay with them and not move. Also, how is Aiden even alive? He was stabbed by the Oni." Issac asked. "I was able to heal the damage that was done to him. And I miss her.
I wish I could have saved her but the others didn't tell me what they were planning. I don't know what I did to lose their trust." I said. "It wasn't you. Scott didn't want to see you get hurt. After what happened to Allison, losing you would have killed him." Issac said.
"Why? It's not like we were dating. He had Kira." I said. "You were the one who helped him with his temper. You were the one who saved him from Peter and you were the one who took the weight of the roof to save his mother.
You matter to him and he was pushing you away to protect you. He was stupid to push you away but he made his choice." Derek said. I opened my mouth to reply when Sam said, "We're here." I looked around and saw that were were in a clearing surrounded by woods.
My pack moved to flank me and Sam's friends moved behind him. "Why don't you start." I said to Sam. He looked cautiously at us and nodded. "We're werewolves. We can shift into big wolves and can heal very fast. We also are very hot and strong.
Whenever a bloodsucker comes into town, the fever sets in and we shift. Leah is our only girl werewolf." Sam said. I shook my head and said, "You're not werewolves, your shifters. There's a difference. My pack and I are werewolves.
Except for Jackson, Jackson's a hybrid. A mix between a werewolf and a Kanima. Out kind can be born or bitten. I was born and so was my brother. The others were bitten. I'm an Alpha and they are my betas." I said.
