It was the end of the day and I walked out of the school with my pack on my heels. As I walked out of the school, I saw Jacob leaning on his motorcycle. I smiled a genuine smile at him and waved. He smiled back at me and pushed himself off his bike.

"What brings you by?" I asked as I moved towards him. "I was wondering if you were up to come down to the res with me. Emily wants to meet you." Jacob said. I smiled and nodded. "I'll call my brother and uncle and let them know." I said.

I pulled out my phone and called my older brother. "Hello?" Derek asked. "Hey, sour wolf. I was wondering if you'd be up to going to La Push and visiting the pack?" I asked. "It's up to you." Derek said. I smiled at his words.

I still asked permission even though I was the leader of our pack/family. "The boys and I are going to head over there now. Follow when you can." I said. "Alright. Be safe. Love you." Derek said. "Love you too." I replied.

I closed my phone and turned to Jacob. Just as I was going to open my mouth, he said, "I heard everything. What to ride on my bike?" Jacob asked. I nodded and looked at Issac. "Want to ride my bike?" I asked.

His name yes lit up and he nodded. "Sure!" Issac said. I smiled at him. That's when I heard a low growl. I turned to where it came from and saw Edward glaring at Jacob. A feeling of protectiveness hit me hard and I snarled at him.

My eyes flashed red and I felt my claws come out of my fingers. My wolf was trying to break out and protect someone who meant something to me. I glared at him and he met my gaze with a sad look. Meeting his eyes almost made me whine.

He was hurting and I wanted to make it better. At the same time, I wanted to protect Jacob from him. My wolf was fighting itself. "Let's get out of here." I said as I turned to Jacob. "Hop on." He said as he got on his bike.

I got on the back of his bike and the sent of sadness hit me like a ton of bricks. I turned to where the sent came from and saw Edward looking at me with pain in his eyes. <I'm sorry> I thought to him, knowing he would hear it.

"Hold on." Jacob said as he started the bike. I wrapped my arms around his waist and waited for him to go. I smelt pure happiness coming off of Jacob. It made me smile. I was glad he was happy. As we sped through the town, I listened to Jacob's heartbeat. It was soothing.

After a fifteen-minute ride, we pulled up to a nice-looking house. "Is your pack going to be able to find us?" Jacob asked. I smiled at him as I got off the bike. I shifted and howled. Letting the others know where I was.

Jacob got off the bike and moved to my side. "Come on! I want you to meet Emily! I think you'll love her." Jacob said as he gently grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the house. The sent of baking cookies hit me and made my mouth water.

I heard laughter coming from the house and smiled as Jacob and I walked into the house. "Emily! I want you to meet Amara. She's the girl we told you about." Jacob said as we entered the house. A woman turned around and smiled at us.

The first thing I noticed was her scars. The second was her scent. She smelled human. "It's nice to meet you! I just finished making cookies. Would you like some?" Emily asked as she looked at me. I smiled and said, "If it's not to much trouble."

"Of course not! Let me just....." Emily said as she turned back to the oven. She was wearing oven mitts and pulled out a sheet of cookies. As she went to set it down, Sam walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

The suddenness of what Sam did, made Emily jump and drop the tray. The tray landed on her bare food and she let out a shriek of pain and surprise as the pan hit her foot. Out of reflex, she kicked it off of her foot.

Pain flashed across Sam's face as he pulled Emily into his arms and tried to calm her down. I could tell that she was still in pain as Sam led her to a chair. He sat her down and moved to get ice from the freezer.

I walked over to where Emily was and gently took her hand in my own. The second my hand touched hers, black veins ran up my arm and white-hot pain hit me like a ton of bricks. "I'm taking your pain for a little bit." I said as I answered her questioning gaze.
