Peanut Butter

Anna's POV

It's been a few days since me and Jai have been with George and Chris, 3 to be more right. It's December 22. There nice I like them. They don't hurt me or jai like our mommy and daddy did. It's weird they are best friends. I walked in on them hugging a few months ago but it was a special hug. I know this because jai told me. Anyway they have not hugged like that ever since. I woke up to day feeling the way I always do, wanting to hang out with my sister. (If you caught that you're my new best friend.)

I walk out of my room and run to Jai's room. When I get to her door turn the nob and open the door, closing it behind me softly and jump on to her bed on top of her. She groans and when she sees it's me she pulls me in and hugs me. I hug her back, she's warm and soft.

JE: hey.

AL: hey.

JE: what's wrong?

AL: nothing I just wanted to wake you up.

JE: well just lay down here.

She scoots over in her bed to make room for me.

AL: OK

I lay down next to her and hug agents her.

Jai's pov

I hug Anna back and we look at the ceiling and just lay there. A few minutes later I hear Anna ask me a question that I hoped would never come.

AL: Hey jai are Chris and gorge our new family.

I had no idea how to answer this question, in my heart I wished they were and my mind new that we would not be happy for long. We never could be. I didn't know what was going to happen next but I know it won't be good.

JE: I wouldn't get my hopes up.

AL: Why?

JE: Because good things never happen for us. Something is going to happen and we are going to be thrown away.

AL: That's not true, I got you.

I looked at her for a moment and tears got to my eyes and I muster what I can.

JE: Yea and I got you. We have each other.

She hugs me and I hear mumbling outside my door I get up and Anna follows behind, when I go to open the door I see George and Chris about to knock.

JE: Yes? How may I help you?

They stay silent for a minute. George tries to come up with something but fails.

GS: Well ... um ... we ... uh ... Chris what did we want to tell them?

CC: ... uh ... What do you want for breakfast.

JE: I'm not hungry.

AL: But I am I want pannycakes please.

CC: pannycakes?

JE: that's the way she says pannycakes. What?

Chris's pov (what he's thinking.)

JE: that's the way she says pancakes. What?

(Wow ok)

CC: Nothing... just wasn't sure.

JE: ok well now you know.

(What is her problem this morning?)

CC: Are you alright?

JE: Yea I'm good.

(Liar)

CC: Ok.

I turn on my heel and head down the stairs. I go into the kitchen and start making food. I cook for myself, George, Anna, and I still cook for jai just in case she changes her mind. I make banana and peanut butter pancakes. When everything is finished I go to let them know that I am done but first I set the table and insure that everyone has something on their plate. I run up the stairs and go to the room.
