CJ's POV.

The police have been here for 20 minutes. They and looking under and in everything. I saw one cop tosing Jai's stuff all over the place. So I walk in there and say "What do you think your doing? Your trashing Jai's room do you really think your going to find her in a bed chest you asshole?" He turns to me and says "Young lady I am doing my job. Now you best leave this room and sit in the living room like you were instructed or I will have to arrest you." I say " No. I not going to sit by and let you mess up her room. She hates messes, and I'm not letting her come back to the filth you have created."  He gets in my face and says "I will not ask you again to go sit. For all we know she's dead." I look at him with wide eyes clearly I'm offended but the lady cop that came in talking to George walks in along with George. George says "What the fuck did you just say to her?" The lady cop says " Mr. Salazar and you young lady I apologise on behalf of the Manhattan NYPD Search Unit, for this officers words and he will here by no longer be on this unit of the search. Officer go to the Bronx by Webster, and help that search party. After you apologize to this young lady and this family. They are already in hard times and you decide to voice your unselicated opinion. Discracefull leave now." 

The officer apologizes and then leaves. I look at the cop lady and say "Thank you but is that really what everyone is thinking?" She look at me and gets down to my level and says " I have all the hope in the world for Jai, but we all need to be ready if this all gose south. I know it's really hard to think about but hey let's keep that on the back burner." I nod and say " Ok so when should I start worrying?" She looks down and says "if by the start of day 3 comes and she's not in costody then you can start worrying." I nod and go sit next to Lucy, with Anna fast asleep on the couch. It's always been storage to me how much Anna looks like Jai. Lucy breaks my thoughts " What do you think is going to happen?" I look down then at her and say "I  think there gonna bring Jai home. I think they are going to find her and bring her back to us." I smile light heartedly. I get up again and go to George and say "I want to come." He looks as though he is going to argue but look into my eyes and nods and says " but you have to stay back and not put yourself in harm's way CJ, I don't know what I would do if you were hurt." I nod.

He lets the detective know and after some convincing she agreed. When they were done with the house they moved forward. Me and the detective were in one car. And a few other cars when searched a quarter of Manhattan and a quarter of each of the other Burroughs. The detective gets pissed and says " everyone is moving too slow." I look up and say "Then let's move faster. I say we are checking things that are too ridiculous. Spoon cupboards I mean come on." She says " the idea is that we don't miss anything." I sit back and just wait for us to get to the next complex zone. When we do we are told to stay still at the car, so I look at the time and say " George do you mind if I stay till they find her?" He nods and says " yea your allowed anytime you want." I nod and I notice that this complex looks familiar. And then my eyes widen. It's my apartment complex. I open the car door and go running in to try and hide my secret. But I see George run in behind me and as I get to my apartment George sees me and walks up to me.''What did I tell you about laying back? Why did you at this apartment?" He asked so I say " They are not allowed in there."   

He shakes his head and says "CJ they have to check every apartment. Let them do there job." Just then the lady cop who's name I still have not gotten walks up to us and says " what are you too doing inside I told you to wait by the car." I grab George's hand and we go back to the car. When we get there George says " What was that all about?" I look down and say "this is my apartment complex. I live here with my aunt and uncle." He nods then says " ok and? Why is it such a huge deal? They still have to check it. What are you afraid of." I look down and say " nothing." His face gets serious and he says " CJ does have anything to do with the bruises I saw a few months back? Answer me honestly please." I look down and say " No." And he says " now tell that lie again looking me in the eye and try to make me believe it." I look up and then back down 2 hours later the cop comes down and moves into the next. And this house is on for 8 hours as now the Manhattan search party and the other Burroughs reach 50% except for Bronx and Brooklyn, we stop so the next team of search parties can go out and we can rest. Then we go out again for the last search. 

The cop takes us to Georges house and as we walk in we are met with hopeful yet worried faces. George shakes his head and they all look down. I run to Jai's room and sit on her bed with my head in my hands crying. I feel the weight of the bed shit as someone sits next to me and it's Anna. The way I know is cause she says in a little soft voice "I miss her too." I hug her and we lay down together. I don't know why but I feel this sisterly bond with her. I hear George's phone going off because of the cast texting asking why they are getting searched. He keeps saying that it's just protocol so I think I'm right. Then I hear his phone ring and he says "Wait what? Are you sure it's her?." I get up and go running into his room and I say "Well?" He says "They found her. Chris! Get in here!''Everyone comes running in and George says "we are going to Lenox hill hospital that's where they are taking her. Let's go!" 

When we got to the hospital the cop lady from earlier is there and we go up to her. George says "where is she?" She says "they are 5 minutes out but I must warn you. She's not looking so hot. She went through a lot and I'd pretty badly beaten up." George looks down and stars to tear up and so do I. I look up and as I do I see a gerney come in with a man on top of the person on it doing chest compressions. I look at the face and it's Jai. I see George try to run behind it and It's stopped and I fall to me knees crying. Chris picks me up and cradles me. I fall more and more apart.
