George's Pov 

The nurse comes in and out of the waiting room for hours. She doesn't even address me in any way. I was told that at this point no news is good news. But the last time I heard that it wasn't, so I chose not to put much faith in those words. The detective Light comes and sits next to me and says " I just got some really good news." I sit up and say " About Jai?" She shakes her head no "I know about as much as you do about her. What I do know that you don't is that she's a hero. Tonight we rescued the 2 other girls along with 7 others some of whom were missing for as much as 3 years. 3 were found with the second girl on the list and the other 4 were found with the other girl. If it wasn't for me catching Jai's case when I did those are there 9 kids would have been or would have continued to be sex trafficed from rings that the FBI have been tracking for months for years now." I look down then back up and I say " That's amazing, I'm happy she could do that for you." Detective Light says " There are some people who would like to meet you both when Jai recovers." I look down " she will recover Mr. Salazar. I remember the way you talked about her. She's a stubborn tuff ass, so that means she will never let that son of a bitch get the right to say he killed her." I nod and she hugs me. When we let go I here a nurse say " Family of Jai Elena Salazar Clofer?" I say "that's us.'' She nods and says " follow me. I will be taking her room and the doctor will come in and talk to you." I nod and everyone stands up and follows. 

When we get to Jai's room it's extremely hot and I see her laying there with tubes up her nose and one in her mouth. I try to walk further in and am stopped by the doctor. He says " You both must be her … father's. We need to discuss her injuries, is that alright?" I look him up and down and say " yes we are and yes you may." He nods and says " she had a ruptured appendix and compressed  lungs, but we did both surgerys after you signed off last night. She has Flu type A, Pneumonia, she has a bit of hyperthermia, she has 4 infections along with a broken ankle already set, dislocated shoulder also already set, broken wrist on the same arm also set, also she had a few broken ribs. She had her whole body full of open lacerations so we stitched up the ones that needed to be which is where we caught the infections. She is in a medically induced coma. If I may, was she pregnant when she went missing?"  My eyes grow wide and I say " No she wasn't. What are you telling me?" He takes a moment and clears his throat and says "She is currently pregnant. Around 6 weeks along." My face drops and so does everyone else's and Anna asks " what does pregnant mean?" I look at her and say " your too young." The doctor says " sir I need your permission for a um Rape Kit, and testing the dna of the baby. Both for the police." I nod unable to talk.

 And he hands me the clipboard and I hand them to Chris who doesn't take it. I look at him and he walks out of the room. I sign then go after him and say "where are you going?" He turns around and says " I can't do this, this is not what I signed up for." I follow him all the way out of the hospital and say " what the fuck do you mean that this isn't what you signed up for? You signed up to be a dad. I Know this hasn't gone how you would like but you can't just walk out on us." He says "Actually you were the only one who signed anything. George I just can't do this. Jai's better off." I feel my face heat up and I say "What about Anna? What about me?" He stops and says "I'm sorry." He keeps walking to his car and says  "I'm gonna go take my stuff and be out." I say " Fuck you Chris, your a peace of shit." I watch him drive away and hear " well he's an asshole." I turn around to see officer Coste. I nod and say "yea tell me about it." Then turn around and say "What are you still doing here? Don't you have a job to do? Not trying to be rude of course." He nods and says " 10 years on the job and Jai is the first one to get to me. She touched the hearts of many all over the world." I nod and say "Thank you." He nods and hands me a card and says " I'd love to meet her when she gets better." I nod and walk in.

CJ comes up to me and asks " where did Chris go" I look down and say " He's walking out on us. Anyway your a kid you wouldn't get it." She nods then says " my mom died of cancer when I was 8, somehow it was my fault to my dad so he abused me for 3 years, until he died in a car crash when I was 11. Yea I wouldn't get it."  I looked at her and then down and say " I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." She says " It's ok you didn't know. Jai is gonna be ok right?" I look at her and nod saying " she went through years of hell before this, if anyone can make it through it's her. Plus I got a call to make watch Anna for me please?" She nods. I walk out once more and look through my contacts and look for the one contact I thought I'd never use. I call " Hi I hope you're not busy … ok cool I'm … so I'm sure you're aware of what's going on with Jai. She needs someone who knows her medical history better than anyone … better than me. She needs you Dr. Levi." I wait till I hear " I'm on my way she's at Lenox Hill right? " I take a second and I say "yea how'd-" he cuts me off "It's all over the news. I'll be there in 30." I say "ok." Then hang up. When he does get here I show him our room and and he sees Jai.
