Chapter 1: Aftermath of the Apocalypse

It is a foggy day. You walk through the streets of your town, while looking around yourself. The apocalypse pretty much turned this city into a mess. Broken asphalt, corpses of zombies or humans and dried blood puddles everywhere are not making this town as happy as it ever was. You were on the way to the graveyard to visit your family's grave. Your family was killed by zombies in the apocalypse and you are the only one left in your family, who survived the attack. Sometimes you wonder, why you didn't end your life willingly, when everything that was important to you, was taken away. You are the only survivor in your town, noone else is still alive, it's only you left and the zombies, that roam the city at nighttime. The only time you can walk around your town freely is on daytime, because the zombies fear the light rays of the sun. When they come in contact with the sun, they ignite and burn to ashes. To avoid this, they hide in darker places that are avoiding sunlight, like suburban stations, sewers or caves outside the city. You were already aware of the behaviour of the zombies, since you survived many encounters with them before. Now you were standing before the graveyard's gates and made your way to the grave of your family and read the text on the tombstone.

Remembering your hurtful past about the loss of your family made your eyes go watery and you begin to mourn.

???? POV

When i made my way to the graveyard to inspect the grave of my family, i noticed a (h/c) haired girl standing by a tombstone. She was crying, probably because she lost someone important related to that tombstone. Poor thing...i really want to approach and comfort her, but i can't let her see me. She would be afraid of me, because i look similar to them.
Ashamed by not being able to help her, i stayed hidden. Then i heard a moaning sound...

Your POV

You heard moans and grunts and turned your head into the direction of the sound and then you tensed up. Zombies! They were targeting you.
"Is it that time of day again? Give me a break...", you complained and took a few steps back. Then you heard more grunts and moans behind you and saw more zombies. You were surrounded. You reach for the pistol in your holster and begin shooting the zombies in the head. You manage to bring a ton of them to the ground, but eventually you ran out of ammo. You tensed up. You had no reserve ammo with you. The last surviving zombie made it's way to you and grabbed you by the neck and began choking you. You tried to break free, but it's grip was too strong. You began coughing and your vision was blurring. You thought that this was the end, until you heard a noise of a neck cracking...The hands that held your neck loosened and you fell back on the floor, regaining consciousness.
"Hey, you alright?", you heard an unknown voice speak. You slowly looked up to see a man wearing a red ninja mask with green zombiesh skintone, red tanktop, shorts and brown long boots looking down at you and reaching his hand out to you. Seeing the typical signs of a zombie in his appearance, you screamed and covered your face with your arms to avoid any damage.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm not like them. I'm friendly. Are you okay?", he said. You slowly took your arms away and looked at him. He had black eyes with red pupils and he gave you a concerning look. It was quite difficult to make out his emotion, because the majority of his face is covered by his mask. The only part of his face visible to you was his eyes and eye brows.

"Yes, i am okay....Thank you!", you said, feeling relieved that you're not alone and that you were able to escape death.

"Don't sweat it, girl! I'm just glad, that you are okay. What's your name?", he asked, pulling you up with his hand and checking if you had any bruises or wounds after the attack.

"My name is Y/N L/N. What about you?"

"Ryder....Ryder Odison. Pleased to meet you."

"Likewise, so....Ryder...How long have you been here in this town?"
