Chapter 9: Dangerous Escape

Once you and Ryder were driving towards the forest, you were wondering, if you would be okay...
What if they find you? They wouldn't be so careless and just leave after they notice your disappearence from town, would they?

"Ryder...will i be okay?"

"Don't worry, Y/N. You will be safe, if an idea comes from your mind, it's guaranteed to work..."

"Why would you think that? I always make the bad choices..."

Suddenly you were beginning to regret your decision. It wouldn't work. All your choices failed before. And the choice in distrusting him earlier made that really clear in your opinion.

"Of course not all choices are good, but that's what they are for. They give you a sight of what's right and what's not. And when you make a bad choice, you will remember this and make better choices from that point on...You can't keep blaming yourself for your past mistakes, Y/N...You need to shrug them off and move forward. When you let them consume you, you won't be happy anymore. Trust me, everything will be okay..."

Flattered by his comforting words, you hugged him and began to smile again...

"Thank you, Ryder...You really helped me right now!"

"Glad i did, now...let's continue, alright? We have a mission to accomplish, don't we?"

"True words, partner..."

Soon you two arrived back at the forest. Ryder pulled up into a parking space...

"Are you sure we should park here? What if they find your bike and begin to investigate here?"

"Hmmm...you got a point...Well we can't drive into the forest, can we?"

Now you had an idea in mind. You couldn't make Ryder drive the motorcycle into the forest, but instead you could make him push it into the forest, until you both reach a safe place.

"I got it...You can't drive it into the forest, but instead you could take IT with you by pushing it through the forest."

"Hmm...Not bad, Y/N! But what about the zombies?"

"We'll figure something out...I'm sure of it..."

"Now were talking, Y/N! See? You're getting better with decisions..."

"I hope so...let's go!"

You were walking with Ryder right beside you, taking his motorcycle with him. You stopped in your tracks, when you noticed a zombie on your way. You gave Ryder a sign to stay put and sneaked towards the zombie. Then you grabbed a hold of his neck and snapped it, killing him. You felt relieved for getting this problem away from your plans. You looked to Ryder and he gave you a thumbs up with a smile on his face. You didn't want speak in the forest to avoid the zombies hearing you. The zombies you knew were able to spot humans through sounds they make...So you tried to be as silent as possible. You motioned Ryder to come with you and he followed you further into the forest. You repeated this routine, until you both spotted an abandoned cave.

"Just like i planned", you thought to yourself. You moved towards the cave with Ryder together and entered it. It was dark, but luckily you came prepared. You took your flashlight you brought along and turned it in.
Soon, your way was visible to you both and so you both kept going. It was only then, that you heard a tree branch snap underneath you. You realized, that you made the sound...
You grew anxious and heard moans and grunts coming your way. The zombies have noticed you...

"Damnit", you cursed quietly...

"Y/N, run! I hold them off..."

"I can't leave you here! We have to stay together."
