On our way home we decided to pass by Mario's. Mario was our "uncle" who had his liquor on the corner of our street. It was our usual hang out or runaway spot. When ever we need advice on something we would go straight towards Mario or his wife Bianca. Our father hated us going to that liquor. Usually a lot of gangs go there to hangout as well. But everyone respected both Mario and Bianca. They were like the grandpa and grandma of the neighborhood.

"Remember we're only going to buy some sodas and water for the next days. Alright?" Henry told us as he opened the liquor door. "You can tell us that as many times as you can big bro. But you already know Harp and I are always going to buy our chips, snacks, and sweets." Cameron said as he(they) placed his(their) arm around me. I giggled, knowing what Cameron had said was true. Henry sighed and walked towards the back of the liquor were the drinks were. Cameron and I went towards our sweets. Eventually Cameron and I went to the cashier register.

"Hey, Mario." Cameron said to Mario. Mario smiled and started to scan our items. "How's ya pop's doing?"

"He could be better. You know how he is," I answered. Having a father is against lgbt is common. But something about our father was different. Than again every family is different.

"I swear you kids are very lucky to have each other," Mario said as he gave Cameron the receipt.  Cameron stood silent. We've heard of cases were teens have been beat up till they die just because their parents found out their sexuality was different. We've also heard cases were the kids have been kicked out of the house.

"Well, they don't need to worry a bit Mario.  I'll be protect Cameron and help him no matter what. For now we are keeping him being gay between only us." Henry said proudly as he payed for the four, 24packs of water. "Why so much water Henry," I asked Henry as he gave me a pack to carry. He gave me his smile. For a quick second I thought he was about to cry. Guess my eyes were playing tricks on me.

"Now ya'll take care now alright." We all smiled at Mario. "We will Mario."

We started to walk down our neighborhood. Little kids would be on their bikes or scooters. They would stop by and wave at us. Some would even tell us about their day or hug us. Watching both Cameron and Henry with those kids made me smile. I knew one thing for sure. I've been knowing it since I was 9. Henry's always wanted a family. He's always talking about having one. But he's always thinking about us first. Cameron and I are what's holding him back. I've told him before that we can take care of ourselves. But he always changes the topic. I figured it is because he's worried that one of us will die.

I loved our neighborhood. For me it was perfection.

We got home to our good enough house. It had an attic (my hideaway), my room, Henry and Cameron's room, my father's room, a kitchen, a living room, and both a front and back yard. "Fuck. Dad's here." Cameron said as he saw our father's motorcycle and car. "Which one do you think he used?" I asked as I put down the package on the floor to massage my arms. "I'm guessing the motorcycle. I can see the tracks under it." Henry said as he picked up the water bottle package I was carrying. I got my keys and opened the door. With out even thinking I saw my father. He had his hair all nice. He was wearing tux pants and shoes. A dark blue dressing shirt with a black loosened up tie. To finish up his outfit he wore his leather jacket. He looked some what like an actor. Henry had his same style. They both wore a leather jacket. Cameron had his same hair color and way to talk. I on the other hand had nothing.

"How was your day sir." Henry asked him as he went to the kitchen. "Could be better kid. No one bother you today Harp?" "No Dad. Plus if they did I know how to deal with it." "That's my girl," he said as he hugged me. My father was 5'8 while I at age 14 going to 15 was only 4'9. Cameron and Henry on the other hand were both 5'5. Henry being a little taller now and actually being about my father's height.

"Did you buy the water Henry?" "yes sir. Cameron bought take out." "Those are my boys!" Dad said as he hugged all of us. For what seemed a split second I could see mom.
