My heart skipped around in my chest for a few seconds as I contemplated those words. I was caught in some frightened reverie that lasted only until I realized what was happening. Was it just a dare, yes, but did it mean more?
I stared at Ryan's face for a second, he returned with an innocent look.
Next, I looked at Mitch, who was sitting on the next bed over. He was blushing, but as was I. I barely knew him, in fact, we had barely even spoken. But this was a dare, something I could not turn down, mostly because Marcie would call me a pansy for the rest of my dang life.
And with that, I leaned in and we kissed. I don't know what I was expecting, sparks? They're was something, just nothing that I could use words to describe. But, then again, my vocabulary was not the best.
"There." I said flatly, too scared to look at anyone's face, so I just stared at my shoes.
"Woah." Ryan mumbled.
Adam looked shocked, as did Jerome and Jordan. But Ian, he looked disturbed, like someone had murdered somebody in front of his face, and I didn't take that as a good sign.
Mitch opened his mouth to say something, but quickly shut it. I was glad he didn't say anything, I was glad I didn't have to answer.
"I-I didn't think you would actually do it." Ryan admitted, cracking a smile.
The whole room immediately erupted in a chorus of laughs, and I smiled sheepishly.
"Then, I guess it's my turn." Mitch announced as the noise died down.
Everyone nodded and took their seats once more.
"Ryan. You're getting dared." He added mischievously.
I cracked a grin when I saw Ryan's face go pale. He quickly looked at Jordan, who shrugged.
"Sorry, bud." Jordan laughed, leaning up against the wall.
"A-alright." Ryan agreed, running his fingers through his hair.
Mitch uttered a quick stay put, and rushed off to the kitchen. When he returned, he held a whole box of Ramen Noodles in his hands. Each of them had the tops ripped off and were slushing around in water.
Marcia looked at me with an 'uh-oh' expression and I nodded.
"Eat up, Batman." Mitch said, slapping down the bowls.
"I love Ramen." Ryan said with a grin, but it quickly faded. This Ramen was cold, in ice water, uncooked. "Oh God why."
