Today was the day
Ten years I didn't know about her
But now I do
I'm meeting my daughter
One of Dianne's close Australian friends had brought her our . The nerves had been building up all day . My hands shaking as there was a knock on the door
My heart beating faster and faster
I stay on the sofa frozen
"COME IN" I shout
I hear the door unlock and I here Dianne saying something
I here the door lock and then I look behind me and see her
Light brown hair
Big Blue eyes
My daughter
"Josie. This is Joe. He's your dad " Dianne say
I didn't know what to say as I was still in disbelief
"Dad" She says
I nearly broke down crying when she said that
I held my self together and walked over to them
"Hi Josie" I say
She then hugs me tightly
I wrap my arms around her
My little girl
She let's go of me and we all sit on the sofa
We spend a while talking before heading to the studio to train
Josie sits and watches us in amazement
It was week twelve . The Semi finales
We were so close
Josie tells me about her dancing and how she's learning to ballroom dance and Latin dance
"Mum told me all about the dances you've done " Josie says
"I hope she told you they were good " I say with a smile
"Very good. My favourite one was the waltz ." She says with a smile
I smile widely
God Joe why are you so emotional today
We continue to train
Learning two dances wasn't easy .
Dianne was trying not to stress in front of Josie but I knew she was upset
"Hey , Hey " I say as I do the step wrong and Dianne begins to storm off
"Look I'm sorry Di . I think we should head home you're upset and Josie needs dinner and so do " I say
Dianne hugs me
I smile
Josie comes over and hugs me
The two most important girls in my life are right there .
I'm holding onto them and never letting go.
I'll protect them both with my life
