"McKenna!" My mom called me from downstairs, I ran downstairs and found her in the kitchen.
"So I scheduled an apppointment with an orthodontist today." She said, I didn't even mention to her about the hot orthodontist, so this can't be good.
"It's at 2:30 with Dr. Irwin, I'll text you his office's address." As she told me this, I couldn't help but get bothered that it was probably another random old dude which I am not happy that it's not the orthodontist I want. I would try and convince her but once she makes up her mind, there's no changing it.
Great, so now I have an appointment with some random orthodontist later.
I practically did nothing the whole day except dreading this stupid appointment. I had to change because I had to leave soon or else I'd be late, so I decided to throw on a Coldplay shirt, some black jeans, and a pair of Vans.
I decided I better brush my teeth really good because even though he's not a dentist, he's still an orthodontist and will be looking inside my mouth and I don't want him smelling my salt & vinegar chip breath.
I anxiously left my house and started the 15 minute drive to his freaking office.
I was hoping that maybe the radio could calm my nerves, so I turned it on but if anything, it just made me more nervous for some reason, so I just sat in silence as I drove.
I pulled up to the office much faster than I wanted to and headed inside 5 minutes early than my appointment time.
As I opened the door and stepped inside the lobby, it was freezing and smelled like a hospital.
The old and little receptionist lady was nice and polite, but that didn't hide the facade of the dreadful office.
There was even nobody else sitting in the waiting room, it was only me.
I was tapping my foot anxiously and watching the clock in the office lobby till 2:32 when,
"McKenna Knight, Dr. Irwin will see you now."
My stomach immediately twisted into a thousand knots and I got up really shakily to head to where the receptionist stood.
She led me down a hallway until she stopped at a door and opened it.
"Sit down, and he will be with you shortly." She said as she motioned towards the room and the dreadful dentist chair in the middle.
The room had a window, which had a perfect view of the park behind the office, but too bad you couldn't people watch while in the dentists chair.
I cautiously sat down in the dentist chair and started to pick at my palms, while waiting for this unknown dentist, who may or may not be some old creep, who knows.
It could've been about 5 minutes sitting in the very uncomfortable chair before I heard footsteps.
The footsteps came to a halt and I heard the door open.
I immediately turned my head towards the door to see a tall and young guy with dirty blonde hair and glasses that framed his face perfectly, wearing a doctor's coat over a blue plaid shirt with a tie and khakis. Suddenly, by just seeing him, my nerves calm down and I'm a little less anxious.
I was shocked to see that this orthodontist was young and hot.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Ashton Irwin." He said while reaching out his hand and smiling. He had a beautiful smile, I mean, obviously because he was an orthodontist, but it was so perfect.
I shook his hand and soon my nerves came back, I can't do this. This hot guy will see my awful teeth.
Hopefully, I brushed my teeth enough to get rid of the salt and vinegar stench.
What if he judges my teeth and how awful they are.
What if he can't do anything about my very crooked teeth.
"So, your mother set up this appointment because you need braces, yeah?" He asked, I just nodded my head.
"Well then let's take a look, shall we?" He asked while snapping a pair of gloves on and tying a mask around his face.
He started to lean the chair back and my nerves were getting unsettled.
The chair moved till it was a 180 degree angle.
"Ok, love, open up please." He politely asked, but I was super hesitant.
I slowly opened my mouth, but barely enough for him to do anything.
"Wider please, love." He asked, in which I complied.
I tried not to look at him while he looked inside my mouth, cause that would just make it awkward, but it was so hard to not look at him, he was beautiful.
I just couldn't keep my eyes away, so I watched his hazel brown and almost green eyes focus and concentrate on my mouth, it was cute to watch him so focused, even though he was focusing on the weirdest thing ever, my mouth.
Sometimes, I might've caught him smirking through his face mask, but he, nor I, ever acknowledged it.
Pretty soon, he retracted his gloved fingers from my mouth and pulled down his face mask.
"Ok, so, you're definitely going to need braces."
