"Fine, then I'll just close them cause I don't need to see yours."
I closed my eyes and opened my mouth and waited for him to do something or to feel his tools in my mouth again, but there was nothing.
I opened my eyes and saw Dr. Irwin looking directly at me.
"You know you were rather naughty by eating something bad and breaking your brackets."
I just stared right back at him.
"I broke my brackets?"
"Three. You have to be more careful next time, unless you wanna keep on seeing me."
I didn't say anything back, I just looked into his bright orbs that were peering into mine.
"Open, so I can fix them and you can get back to school."
I opened my mouth and watched as Dr. Irwin gave me a wink before fixing my brackets.
He must've tightened them again too because my whole mouth just hurts, AGAIN.
As he finished up and disposed of his masks and gloves, he stopped me before I left to go back to school.
"Last thing, I thought you would what to know since you seemed so surprised during my most recent visit to your school. Your school is running dental checkups and orthodontic screenings next week. And your grade, will be first thing Monday and Wednesday."
"Have a good weekend, and see you at school."
I saw him give me a sly grin before I left his office, still not seeing anybody in his lobby.
By the time I got to school, they were already in 3rd period.
And my 4th period is literally the worst, it's Chemistry II.
I was trying to avoid my lips from touching my braces, so that my lips wouldn't start bleeding on top of all the pain my mouth was feeling, but it wasn't going well. It was stopping me from focusing on my work.
It was nearing the end of class, with 5 minutes left, and everybody was packing up while I was laying my head down on the desk, until I smelt this god awful smell.
I lifted my head up and saw multiple other kids with the same disgusted look on their face, so it wasn't only me who smelt it.
The two chemistry classrooms are connected by a little pod, and we all looked over to the other classroom and heard yelling and kids running out of the classroom.
My teacher got up from his desk and walked over to the door to the conjoining classroom.
He gave us one last stern look before he went into the pod and then into the other classroom.
When he opened the door, the scent became ever stronger. By now, everybody had their shirts covering their faces and noses.
The smell was absolutely terrible.
Our teacher wasn't even gone for 5 minutes until he came back into the classroom with the most horrific look on his face.
"Stink bomb." He mumbled out before he reached for the intercom button.
The smell was infiltrating both classrooms and the other classroom was already in the hallway, and we weren't far behind.
The whole entire class was silent as the office responded back to our teachers call from the intercom.
"Yes?"
"There was a stink bomb that exploded in Mr. William's room, and all of his students have already evacuated his room, we're about to evacuate mine."
"That's where it's from? We've heard from other classrooms on the other side of campus that have had to evacuate their classrooms. They must have gotten them into the vents. You can evacuate to the football field, there will be an announcement for everyone else soon."
"You heard them evacuate to the football field, don't go anywhere else. Unless, you happen have a car to leave in because if it's in the vents, there's no way they will be able to get it out today. But I didn't say that. You didn't hear that from me. Only go to the football field." My teacher said as he grabbed his keys and gave us a wink.
About half of the class actually went to the football field, everyone else headed to their cars.
I wanted to get out of here and go get some food.
But with my painful braces, I don't have anything to eat at home, because I ate everything the other day when I had them tightened.
I guess I'll leave school and go to a nearby cafe to get soup or something soft.
There was at least 15 kids leaving school along with me, everybody heading every other direction.
When I got to the cafe, it was around lunch time, and there was only a few tables open.
I got a menu and immediately went to the soups, knowing that I couldn't eat anything else.
I was deciding between the broccoli cheddar soup or chicken noodle when someone walked next to my table.
"Is this seat taken?"
