Springfield's Asylum, front gate. 12:03 A.M

For some strange reason, the clouds that have been gathering in the sky the whole day decided to pour all the water the minute I stepped outside my house. I took the ride running trying to no vail to avoid the showers. However, that would have been impossible since it was raining cats and dogs. I reached the front gate of the asylum to find a very angry Alec and a calm Darwin waiting for me.

"You are late." Alec was looking at me oh so warmly.

I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath trying to gain my normal breathing back. I was never fit for sports.

"Yeah two minutes late." I replied in sarcasm.

"No. It's three minutes, actually." He fired back.

"Listen you..."

"Okay!! You two can continue your pitiful bickering some other time. Can we move now? I'm getting soaked to the bone here." Darwin snapped at us. Firing a glare at both me and Alec.

Alec shrugged and opened the gate. Me and Darwin following him.

We reached the building and climbed the two steps that led to the front door. I was in the middle. Alec was in the front and Darwin was guarding the back. Alec turned the knob of the door and it was opened. I wasn't ready for it though.

A horrid smell attacked our noses. I felt a strong sense of nausea taking hold of me. Alec stepped inside but I couldn't move. I felt drowsy and my legs couldn't move. A pair of hand took hold of my shoulders when I started to swing right and left.

"Maya? Are you alright?!"

It was Darwin from behind me. His voice was far away. It felt as if I was drowning.

"What's wrong?" I heard Alec ask.

"I don't know but she looks green." Darwin replied his voice held a hint of worry.

"Damn that brat. I told her not to come." Alec kept mumbling insults aimed at me.

That seemed to snap me out of the nausea episode, "I'm not a brat, you jerk." I replied weakly and tried to stand steadily on my feet.

Darwin chuckled slightly from behind me, "I believe Maya is okay." He said but kept his hands on my shoulders.

"Wonderful. Can we move now?"

"Damn you Alec something" I mumbled as I walk slowly behind him.

"I heard that." He didn't sound very pleased.

I smirked, "Good."

I guessed he decided to continue the insulting match when we finish whatever the devil we were doing in that place. I couldn't believe that Megan would step a foot in that place.

The smell wasn't the worst of it. The paint on the walls was faint and some sections the paint was peeled off. The acrid smell was ever strong with every step we took. The ground floor was empty save for the broken desk that used to be the reception desk, probably. Then there was the staircase. We ascended the steps carefully. Looking for any loose or fallen steps. Upon reaching the upper floor, we were met with three rooms. One in the middle and two on each side.

"It's always the asylums. There's just something so creepy about them. Do you really believe that something is haunting that place?" I whispered looking with wide eyes at the scene around me.

Alec ignored me and kept walking in the direction of the room to the right.

I huffed and walked behind him. Darwin steps behind me were so light I even forgot that he was behind me until he saved me from falling on my face when I tripped on something.
