{ Eleven }

(3rd Person POV.)

[ Beam's Hospital Room ]

"Keep this up and you'll be out of here in 6 months, I know you don't want to be here that long but I want to make sure you're perfectly ok and better, alright?"  Beam's doctor, Mai, said and Beam nodded.

"Whatever gets me out of here the fastest," Beam said. He really liked having Mai take care of him instead of the other doctors he's had.

"How are you feeling? And how long have you been sober from illegal drugs and alcohol?" Mai asked sitting next to Beam's bed.

"Eh... 5 months? Does that nurse drugging me count as not being sober?" Beam asked and Mai shook his head,

"You didn't know, so 5 months sober," Mai said and Beam smiled happy with his progress. 

"That's a new record," Kit commented walking into the room with Ming behind him like a love sick puppy.

"What was your previous 'record'?" Mai asked and Beam didn't know.

"3 days, remember when we all went to China and we forced you to be sober so you wouldn't get arrested leaving the country?" Kit said and Beam nodded and laughed remembering that.

"That was the time I broke Pha's nose right?" Beam asked and Kit nodded.

"Why'd you break his nose?" Mai asked out of curiosity while he was checking the machines and changing Beam's IV.

"He pissed me off so I punched him," Beam said and Mai just laughed.

"Want me to sign you up for anger-management or is therapy enough right now?" Mai asked and Beam nodded.

"If it'll help let's do it," Beam said and Kit was proud of Beam for getting help.

Ming was surprised Beam was being chill and actually getting help.

"This is a new Beam and I'm shook," Ming said and Beam laughed.

"I've been trying to tell you this, he's not a bad guy, he just has a shitty life. Speaking of shitty life, has your mom called at all? And how's your brother?" Kit asked knowing that Beam's been talking with his little brother recently.

"Aei's doing great, well... as great as a 15 year can get, he has a boyfriend, how I don't know, but he's a good kid, they're coming over with mom in an hour, mom isn't happy that I'm here but she's happy I'm finally getting help," Beam said and that shocked Kit.

"She's actually leaving the house?" Kit asked being over dramatic and Beam nodded.

"I know, just keep water away from her, we don't want her to melt," Beam said while laughing. Kit laughed to and Mai just shook his head at his favourite patient.

Beam ended up falling asleep, he wanted to rest before his brother got here since he knew that Aei is a very hyper child, and he needed energy to even deal with his mother being in the room.

- an hour later -

"P'Beam! You awake?" Aei asked knocking on the door and walking into his older brother's hospital room.

"Yeah, hey Aei," Beam smiled seeing his brother and leaned over to hug him.

"How you feeling? Finally being a normal human?" Aei asked and sat on the side of Beam's bed, his boyfriend Jo being shy and standing next to him.

"Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better, don't worry by time I'm out of here I can finally take you on that camping trip I promised you a few years ago," Beam said and Aei gasped.

"You still remember that?" Aei was shocked.

"Of course I do Nong, how could I forget?" Beam said and Aei smiled and hugged Beam again before grabbing Jo's hand.

"Beam. This is Jo, my boyfriend, Jo this is my older brother Beam," Aei said and Jo smiled and waved to Beam and Beam smiled.

"Don't hurt my baby brother, alright? I may be stuck in here but I won't hesitate to leave and hunt you down if you hurt him," Beam threatened and Jo nodded scared of Beam.

"He's joking, don't worry, Beam. Stop scaring him," Aei said and Beam nodded.

"Just doing my job Aei," Beam said and they both laughed as their mom rolled her eyes.

"Hello mother," Beam said and waved to his mom, regretting it after his wrist started hurting, the IV was put in weirdly earlier and it was starting to hurt.

"Beam. Finally realised you were slowly killing yourself?" His mother asked and Beam rolled his eyes.

"Actually, I'm here because a rehab nurse tried to kill me, don't believe that ask Mai," Beam said and smiled when Mai came in to check on the younger.

"Family?" Mai asked and Beam nodded and introduced everyone to Mai.

"Jo?" Mai asked and recognized the younger.

"Oh! P'Bo's husband?" Jo asked and Mai nodded.

"He's my brother's husband," Jo said to Beam and Aei who were confused.

"Married man, didn't know that," Beam teased and Mai smiled and took a necklace out from under his shirt.

"I never wear my ring normally during work, we're actually not allowed to for safety purposes," Mai said and put the necklace back under his shirt.

"Damn, and I was gonna flirt with you, still up for coffee though?" Beam jokingly asked and Mai laughed as well.

"When you get better we can all go out for coffee, Pha says you make a great cup of coffee," Mai said and ruffled Beam's hair and then fixed his IV so it wasn't hurting him as much.

"Of course, I'm 'coffee boy'," Beam said and smiled

"You work at the café near the college right?" Aei asked and Beam nodded.

"Yeah, the pay sucks though, it's gonna take me years to pay off school and the bills from here," Beam said and his anxiety started going up.

"Yah, calm down, we're trying to keep off the drugs not on them," Mai said amd Aei hugged his brother knowing that all he needed was love right now.
