Chapter three
Out of all the things in the world to think about, all I thought about was Drake ever since our day at the beach. I thought of him each day and every night, the first thing on my mind when I woke up and the last before I went to sleep. I needed to see him again…
And so I called him. “Hello there, Al.” He answered. “I want to see you.” I replied. “Haha, alright… when?” He asked. “Um... now.” I replied. His chuckles stopped when I said that. It was silent for a minute… Then he finally spoke. “Can you meet me at the beach again in ten minutes?” He asked. “See you there.” I hung up.
I threw on my converse, and scurried to my car. I arrived at the beach to find Drake already there. I locked the car as I got out, and shut the door. He was standing beside his car waiting for me. I have to say I didn’t picture him the jeep type, but he sure as hell looked good standing next to it.
“I want to take you somewhere.” He said as I approached the car. “Alright, then let’s go.” I said, climbing into the jeep. “So this place that your taking me…” I stopped.
“What about it?” He asked.
“You tell me.” I replied with a grin.
“Ha ha, nice one al. You’re just going to have to wait and see.”
The rest of the ride was silent. He turned off the main road onto an unnoticeably hidden back road it seemed like. It had several twists and turns. It was a long ride through the woods, until we finally came to a stop… right in the middle of nowhere. “This is what you wanted to show me…?” I asked. He looked at me with a smile. And got out of the car and started walking on foot.
I got out, and had to run to catch up to him. I didn’t say a word, I just followed him. He held out his hand from behind and I grabbed it. “No al, this is what I wanted to show you…” He said as we came to a stop. We were surrounded by hundreds of different flowers and weeping willow trees, which happened to be my favorite… to the left was I pond with small lily pads all over.
“Oh my god, this is amazing.” I said to him.
“My mom used to bring me here sometimes when I was little.” He replied.
“I bet that was nice.”
“It was.”
We walked over to the pond which had a small deck over a small section over it. We stood there and talked for a minute, and then Drake sat himself on the edge of it. “C’mon sit with me.” He demanded.
“You’re out of it.” I chuckled
“Don’t make me come down Al.” He said to me.
“We wouldn’t want that now would we?”
I just looked at him for a second, and then he held out his hand. I took it as he helped me up on the edge. “Careful now.” He said. I just smiled.
We sat there in silence for a while taking it all in together. And then he placed his hand on my knee. And let out a sigh.
“Are you alright?” I asked
“Oh I’m fine Al, just thinking that’s all.”
And so I let him be, I let him think. I wasn’t sure what else to do. “Drake, can I tell you something?”
“Sure, anything.” He replied. “Chances are… I’ll never get a moment like this again. And I know this is absolutely crazy, but I don’t care because… No one has ever gotten me like you. And Drake… there’s a reason people like us find each other, maybe it’s fate, it may even be god, but I know this can’t be an accident…” I paused; lord knows what I had just done.
He just looked at me. I looked back, and next thing I knew we were kissing… I hadn’t ever felt this way about someone before. He kissed me long, and good. Then he stopped I opened my eyes to find him looking at me… again.
“Allyson, we are defiantly not an accident” He smiled…
