Chapter Four

It was time… My first day of senior year. New school, new friends, new bullies, and even more of the same gross foods. Which I mean that’s always a blast right?

This isn’t my first time at a new school so I guess im just used to it. With my parents being divorced and all we moved a whole lot! I looked over at my clock which read 6:00, I groaned as I rolled over and fell back asleep.

“Wake Up, sleepy head.” I heard as I felt the gentle touch of my mom. “You don’t wanna be late on the first day, I have to go but I left some breakfast on the counter.” She said to me. “Okay. Thanks mom.” I replied. Before she left he gave me a kiss on the forehead.

I finally made my way out of my bed and to the shower at around six thirty, I was actually a little nervous to be honest. I mean, what will people think of me? Will they like me… Hopefully I’ll make at least one friend, if not then that’s just sad, but how hard can it be right?

After my shower, I got dressed. It was fall here in Greenwood. But still a little hot. I selected light washed jeans, an oversized sweater, boots and a scarf to add something extra. I wore my hair in long wavy curls, with very little make up.

Then, I made my way down stairs into the kitchen. The sweet aroma of Strawberry muffins filled my nostrils as well as pancakes, bacon, and eggs. “Ah, I love you mom.” I whisper to myself as if she were there.

I had finally made it to my car, which took quite a while. I sat there for a minute to let it warm up. I glanced in the rearview mirror to see a black jeep pull in my drive. Drake…

He got out and pecked on my window, I rolled it down. “What are you…” “Look I want you to ride with me to school, I can show you around you know, I mean getting lost in Greenwood is pretty easy.” He cut me off. “Well… I mean I guess I could…” I stuttered “But how’d you know where I live?” I asked curiously. “I have a friend who lives about a block away, I was driving by on the way to his house one day, and I mean how could you miss a brigh red fusion. “Haha, okay true.” I giggled at his response.

I stopped the engine and gathered my bags. “let me take this for you.” Drake smiled as he took my backpack into his own hands. I hopped in the passenger seat, and just as I did steam filled the air with caramel and sweet nutmeg. “Coffee?” He asked. “Sure thanks.” I replied as I grabbed the coffee from his hands.

The drive consisted of grins and glances, not your average glances either. Those long look into you soul kind of glances. He had beautiful eyes, the kind you could get lost in… And I guess I did.
