Colby and I were out on a date when I got a call from Dan, "Jade's gone into labor, meet us at the hospital." He hung up the very short and abrupt phone call.

"We need to go," I said to Colby, grabbing his hand and dragging him towards the car.

"Where, what's happened?"

"Jade's gone into labor, we need to get to the hospital." His eyes widened from shock. He fumbled with the keys before actually getting the right one. He drove as quickly as he could to get to the hospital.

It took us about forty agonizing minutes before we actually arrived and found a parking spot. We rushed around like lunatics trying to find her and by the time we did it had been over an hour since we got the call. Curse big, confusing hospitals.

By the time we found her, she was holding a little bundle of joy.

"Meet Dannii," Jade said, tears flowing from her eyes. I looked up at Dan who stood beside her looking very proud. I  couldn't hold back the massive grin that spread across my face.

"Can I hold her?" I asked as quietly as I could get my voice, trying to hold back the tears. Jade just nodded. I walked over to her and delicately picked up the infant like she was made of glass and would shatter at the slightest touch.

"Hiya Dannii, I'm your auntie Demi," I say with a soft voice, tears escaping my eyes. I just couldn't hold them back anymore. Colby came over to me and placed a hand around my waist. I rested my head against his chest. After a few moments, I looked up at him and asked if he wanted to hold her. He held out his arms, unable to verbalize a response. He held her close, talking to her. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of him holding Dannii. Damn, he's hot. The sight made me want a child of my own but then my heart sunk remembering that horrid night. I shook it off and put a smile on my face, not wanting to alarm anyone.

By the time we'd finished passing her around, Jade has fallen asleep so we handed Dannii over to Dan who layed her down to rest. Colby sat down on the armchair next to the bed and I curled up in his lap allowing sleep to take me away. All that crying had worn me out. I woke up to Colby placing me in the car to go home.

"Morning sleeping beauty," he said with a smile on his face. I just smiled and turned over to go back to sleep. I was awoken yet again by Colby picking me up to take me to bed.

"Sorry baby, last time, I promise," I just snuggled into his chest whilst he carried me up that stairs to the spare room at Jade's. He placed me in the bed, I got comfy whilst he took off his shirt ready for bed. Once he climbed in, I snuggled up to him and began secretly crying. He didn't notice, thankfully. I cried myself to sleep in the arms of the man I love.
