Emily's flashback

I was walking to the reception at the hospital. That was when Victoria, the head of my section in the workforce, spoke," Emily, you are going to be promoted if you start working at the mental institution that is thirty minutes away from here. I am here to inform you as I was being ordered by the boss." I was speechless then, I did not know how to handle the patients over there. My mouth was agape and I tried to oppose to the idea but Victoria leaned towards me, reaching close to my ear. 

" Don't give me that face Em, I know how badly you wish to treat everyone who has any issues whether it is based on health or not. Those patients over there are just the same as the patients that you are tending to now. The only difference is that they need more special treatment to help them feel better. Do not miss this opportunity Em, if you do there are severe consequences."  I could feel the air coming out of her mouth tickling my ear, sending shivers down my spine and body. I was analysing the situation carefully when Victoria leaned back and slightly massaged my shoulders when she walked past me. 

I stood there, slightly shocked. I guess I'm going to have to go to that mental institution considering the fact that I do not have much of a choice. 

After a few hours of travel, I found myself standing in front of a very tall and dark looking place. It looked like the size of a castle and the whole atmosphere was really tense. I started to walk slowly towards what I reckon as the metal institution. I stopped at the rusty looking metal gate and gently pushed one side of the gate. Then, I proceeded to go inside the institution. 

The sight of what was inside quite surprised me. I thought that it would be as dark as it would be considering that the outside looked really dark. The inside of this place was the complete opposite. There were beige and white walls surrounding the interior of this place and bright lights placed at every corner. 

I walked to the reception area and looked up to see a gigantic sign that states 'THE WHITE SAND STREET ASYLUM'   I looked back down to the lady behind the counter. She looks normal and not crazy... Hopefully I didn't misjudge her.

" Excuse me, I'm Emily and I need my schedule. Could you please help me?"

" OH I know that you are new. You may start by going to the second floor on your right from the staircase and then go straight. Stop when you see a room called ' Psychix.' The lady responded without looking away from the book that she was holding.

I was shocked at her response but nonetheless, followed her instructions and found my self staring at the room that she asked me to be in. The door was closed and I walked forward, trying to see if it was locked. To my luck, it was not. I slowly stepped into Psyhix and checked my surroundings. There was a chair in the middle of the room with a weirdly designed helmet placed on top of the chair. Beside it, there was also a table that contained many apparatus and to be honest, it looked very intimidating.The room consists only with those objects and a dim light shone above it. Without the light, it would have probably been a dark room. I found myself walking towards the table. The helmet on the chair was attached to a device that had multiple knobs which helps to control electricity. Just as I was about to touch the device, a voice interrupted.

" Oh you are here Emily. I see you have been exploring the room eh?"
