Chapter 2

Bea's POV

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"OMG, ang aga tapos may tumatawag sa akin haysss.... when can I ever get my rest?"

It was the early morning of Sunday, April 7, 2018. The sun was shining brightly through the white blinds of my bedroom. No training today since it was a Sunday. Usually, during Sundays, I rest, spend time with my family and friends, or there is a UAAP game. Last week kasi, we had 3 games so, this weekend no game what so ever.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Sino ba ang tumatawag sa akin, this early in the morning?,", I said as I grabbed my phone to see who was calling me.

It was my best friend, Jhoanna Maraguinot. She never wakes up this early, bakit kaya she is calling me this early?

"Hello? Jhoanna naman ang aga aga tapos tatawag ka! Is there any problem?" , I said with my conyo accent.

"Umm Bei, sorry na idisturbo kita. Well, I want you sana to meet my boyfriend today. Sorry for the short notice, this is the only time he is free eh.", Jhoanna replied on the other side of the phone.

"BOYFRIEND?!?! Papalit mo na ba ako Jho??", I exclaimed back, obviously with a sarcastic tone.

"Hindi naman Bea! OA ka naman! Sorry kung hindi ko sinabi ka agad sa iyo." ,she said while laughing.

"I am just joking naman Jho. Of course I am happy for you, At least ngayon you found someone to make you happy. Uhmm saan ba tayo magmemeet ng boyfriend mo? Free naman ako ngayon."

"Text ko na lang sa iyo Bei. Thank you hah even it was on a short notice."

"No problem Jho, as a best friend kailangan ko icheck kung okay ba yung guy no?"

"Ikaw talaga Bea kahit kailan. Oh sige. Bye na."

"Bye Jhoanna. See you later!", I said as I pressed the end button of the call.

After I received the call, I honestly don't know how to feel. I stared at the ceiling for a solid 5 minutes, not knowing what to do or how to respond to the situation.

Come on Bei, be happy for your best friend. She finally has someone. I tried saying to myself as I got up from my bed.

But it was hard. Hard to accept that my best friend turned; crush is already in a relationship. In a relationship, not with me, but with someone else and, that is what hurts the most.

I never told Jho that I liked her, with me not taking any chances to ruin our friendship together. Now that I think of it, I honestly felt like I should have said something.

Do you think I would still have a chance with Jho if I told her? I think to myself while trying to look for what to wear.

Well, it's all over social media. People are assuming that me and Jho are dating because of all the clips and pictures that are on social media. Me and Jho would occasionally talk about it and most of the time, it just becomes a laughing matter.

I, lowkey, had always wished that it would be true. True that finally me and Jho are finally together - but no it is not. It is only a dream that I could only wish for. A dream that will never turn into a reality. A dream that can never happen knowing that Jho has already found someone.

"Let's keep it simple." , I said to myself as I got a black tank top and white shorts.

I tried to mask what I truly felt and decided to go. It was definitely hard, but it was needed if I still wanted to be friends with Jho.
