"Hayley's. . .dead?"

Once those words escaped, no one could believe it - no one wanted to believe it. But they had to once Elijah put her body down in a bed and she had no pulse, no heartbeat, and her eyes were staring back at them with no life and with a gaping hole in her chest.

"How did this happen?" Sam asked.

"She ran upstairs by herself, and. . .she was ambushed. By the time we heard her screaming, they. . .they had ripped out her heart," Even Klaus was having trouble speaking. Not only did he lose a woman he cared for, but he couldn't protect her. Hopes' mother.

"Where was Lucifer?" Rebekah asked, glaring straight at the devilish man.

"He was with me," Elijah spoke up, his voice cracking, his eyes on the woman he loved oh so dearly.

"This is it for me. Jack's never going to forgive m-"

"Are you bloody serious right now?! Hayley is dead, and all you can think about is yourself?! Who cares if he never forgives you, he has every right to see you as the monster you are because of everything you have done to that poor boy!" Rebekah yelled at him, poking at his chest with fire burning in her eyes.

"It was an accide-!"

""Accident"?! Accident?! If it wasn't for you, that boy wouldn't have to be so scared as to have Hope protect him and reassure him that you won't try and stab him in the back again! You're the reason he can't sleep at night! You're the reason he can't enjoy his own life! He has to watch his back everywhere he goes in fear of being murdered or tortured by your bloody demons!" She said it. She finally said all she was holding back. Lucifer looked absolutely taken aback, realization hitting him like a truck. Everything he did to his son can never be taken back, as he embedded it into his memory that he is what God has always depicted him to be.

The Devil.

"Guys, is mom back?"

Time slowed down as everyone looked to see Hope at the door, the screaming having woken her. They wanted to shield her eyes from the horror, but it was too late. Her eyes landed on her mother, laying completely limp on the bed with a gaping hole in her chest where her heart was supposed to be.

"Get her out of here," Niklaus pleaded, looking at Freya.

But the second she saw a tear drop from her eye, it was too late. She raced back to her room, slamming the door and falling to her knees.

No. . .No, this can't be happening.

You promised me, mommy. . .

And she screamed.

But not just from the agony and absolutely heart wrenching pain from losing her mother, but also losing a best friend. Her mother was the one who taught her to always value the lives of other living creatures, taught her how to heal, taught her how to feel compassion in every stroke of her brush, taught her how to love. . .

"Hope! What's wrong?!" Jack raced from the bathroom that was in her room, hearing her scream and the absolute worst came to life.

Hope Mikaelson, on the floor, completely given up. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her hands curled themselves in her hair, pulling at it in hopes she could force herself out of this fucking nightmare, her nails digging into her scalp.

"She's dead, Jack! My mom is dead!" She sobbed, the sadness absolutely racking her body.

"I-I thought I could be strong if this ever happened, but. . .She never even taught me how to be a good leader. H-How am I supposed to lead the pack?! She was all I ever had, and now. . .they've fucking ripped her away from me!" She screamed, using her vamp speed knock over her dresser. She ran around, destroying anything in sight.

"I'm all alone!" She cried out, about to punch the glass in the mirror, but Jack grabbed her by her wrist.

"No, you're not."

She looked at him with confusion in her eyes as he carefully let go of her wrist, holding eye contact with her the entire time as he cupped her face in his hands, wiping any remaining tears from her face.

"I made a promise to you last night. I promise that I am never going to leave you. I promise that I am always going to be here. You have your family who loves you and helps you strive in everything you do, and you have us. I still may not understand what the future holds for us, or our families, but I do know that I was born to make you happy, to be able to protect you, and to be able to make you feel like the most important and beautiful woman in the world. Because that's who you are, and here and now, I'm now making a promise that's lived on for a thousand years," He spoke to her so tenderly, her heart racing at the words he was saying and the promises that he was making all for her.

Pressing his forehead against hers, he said,

"Always and forever."
