You woke up to the scent of rain, fresh rain, it was almost calming until....

SPLASH

" OH COME ON "

INSERT OPENING

It took a bit, but your clothing had finally dried, " I really shouldve packed more than three outfits...." You mumbled softly. You had decided three outfit changes would be all you needed for the Hunter Exam....but you failed to calculate the weather and it's surprises.

You had left your adopted family's home a week ago in preparation for the exam, Since your family lived on the outskirts of the whale island and it was about a three days trip from there to the docks.

*** A week ago ***

" Ms. Ichika, I promise I'll come home safely." You promised, trying to comfort the pacing woman. She turned to you swiftly, " Y/n it's not that I doubt your strength, it's just...you know how dangerous this is right?"

You bit your lip, nodding. " I know Ms. Ichika, but I have to do this...I have to find out why my family had to..." You stopped, eyes getting misty and chest tightening held your tongue.

Ichika sighed, coming close to rest a hand on your shoulder. " I know Hon, I know you need to, I'm just going to miss you..so will Haru.."

"Right...Haru" Haru was Ichika's son or your adopted brother. He always called you " Big sib' " and loved you like you were blood. You had told him yesterday you were leaving, oh gosh he lost it, begging you not to leave on this dangerous mission. You tried so hard to explain, but he stormed off, not talking to you since.

" Right Haru what?" Called a soft voice. Haru.

You looked up at him, smiling " Hey Haru"

He turned his head, an angry pout on his little face.

" Haru..." Ichika pleaded.

Haru turned his head fast, looking at you with soft but sad eyes, " why do you have to go..."

"Haru, I have to go find out why my family was taken from me.." You said, only for him to grunt angrily, " We're your family!"

You nodded, " You are, but that's still my family too, if something happened to me or Ms.Ichika you'd wanna know too right?"

Haru went to protest, but then he thought. Defeated, Haru nodded.

"Yes..."

" So you understand now? I have to do this." You stated, Haru nodded again, then walked away back towards his room. You sighed thinking you'd only angered him again, but he surprised you. A moment he came back with a small camera in his hands, handing it to you.

" Take pictures of your journey for me okay?" He asked, smiling at you.

You laughed, " Of course Haru!"

*** Present ***

You kept your word, taking pictures of flowers, trees, animals, and even where you stayed.

You smiled fondly, " I'll come back and tell you all about my adventure Haru, Ms. Ichika"

A horn pulled you from your thoughts, the boat would be leaving soon. You gathered your tent, clothes, and camera, and made sure the small fire you'd made was out.

All your things ready, you headed towards the docks, ready to start this journey.
