Chapter 3: Finding our way to Zaban City! 1/2

STORY START

3rd person Pov:

You, Kurapika, and Leorio were currently standing near the map of the Island. The boat had docked merely seconds ago, and the small group of four had already deboarded. Gon was speaking with the Captian about a few things before you all officially set off. 

" So where do you guys think we should go?" Leorio questioned. You were focusing hard on the map, squinting your eyes in concentration. You pointed your finger towards the map, aiming for the part near the bottom where the water was located. " Well, we're here. And we need to head to Zaban, right Leorio-san?" You asked, pointing towards the right of the board when mentioning Zaban. 

"(Y/n), I told you to drop the san! No need to be formal." Leorio said, sweatdropping. Sighing he regained his composer, " Yeah, that's what this notice said." He held up a small slip of white paper. That's when Gon joined you guys. 

" The Captian said we should head for that cedar tree." He spoke, pointing to the top of the map where a large tree was. You looked confused, that was the opposite direction from Zaban city. " That's odd..." Leorio's voice cut in. You all turned to him, " What is?" Gon asked, tilting his head like a confused puppy.

" Well uh...according to this notice I received, the exam is being held in Zaban city you see?" Leorio explained, holding up the paper for Gon to see. The tall man turned back to the board pointing to your current location, " Now we're here, and that tree is there...which is the opposite direction of Zaban." Leorio finished. 

" Could you have misheard the Captain?" Kurapika asked cooly. Gon shook his head, " I don't think so." He pointed back to the tree north of you, " He told me to head for that cedar tree." 

Leorio looked to the paper in his hands, scowling. " And this stupid notice isn't any help at all! It says the exam is in Zaban city but it doesn't say where!" He fumed. You chuckled at him, patting his back in the attempt to console him.

" Our task is to find the site using only limited information. This is another test to determine if we are worthy of the exam." Kurapika said matter-of-factly. Leorio fumed more, " Yeah! I already knew that smartypants! So give it a rest!" You laughed at him, finding the way he moved his arms dramatically amusing. 

" I think I'll figure it out for myself. See what the captain was talking about." Gon spoke up, turning to walk left, leaving the three of you behind. Leorio didn't like this,  " Whoa, whoa! Are you serious?" Gon just continued walking away throwing his hand in the air waving you off. " The bus to Zaban is gonna leave any second we need to be on it when it does!" Leorio stressed. Gon paid no mind. " HEY! Geez, that kid is too trusting for his own good. You can't just trust everyone all the time." The tall man continued stressing, only for it to fall on deaf ears. 

You and Kurapika chuckled. Kurapika had walked in the same direction as Gon, Leorio yelling after him. " I'm intrigued by the captain's advice, even more so by Gon's behavior. I'm curious to see what he'll do." Kurapika mused, continuing to walk off. 

Leorio looked to you, the only one still there. " You leaving too?" You smiled at him and shook your head. " Nope! I'm gonna stay. I want you to have someone with you! We'll see them again soon!" 

Leorio looked shocked for a moment, then smirked. " Alright! From now on we'll be travel buddies, Okay?" You smiled wider, " Okie Dokie!" 

" See ya'!" Leorio called. You turned around and waved bye to the others " Bye Kurapika, Bye Gon! See you at the exam site!" You ran to catch up with Leorio, grabbing his hand. He looked at you raising a brow. " I don't want to get separated! Is it okay if I hold your hand?" You ask, tilting your head innocently. The man just smiled, " Yeah it's fine Kid."
