Chapter 1: Meeting the trio (Rewritten)

Your pov:

When You got to the port You saw a large boat multiple people were on board already, chest burning with excitement You ran up the ramp and boarded. The salty sea air invading Your nose. You smiled brightly but lost the smile when You felt countless pairs of eyes on Your form.

" A little Kid? They need to get out of here."

" This is the boat for the hunter exam."

" What's a fragile little thing like them doing here?"

You grit Your teeth.

You were interrupted from your anger by a new voice beside you, and a small bit of moving on the boat. It was moving.

" Bye! I promise I'll become a great hunter!" A childish voice cheered.

You looked to the right, hoping to meet the owner of this voice. It was a boy, your age you presumed. He had spikey black/green hair and deep honey eyes. His outfit was green too.

' Must like green..'

He must have felt your eyes on him since he turned around. He smiled brightly, blinding you for a moment, then he spoke.

" Hi! My names Gon!"

You giggled at his enthusiasm, " Hiya! I'm (Y/n!"

The boy-Gon lit up, " That's a pretty name!"

You blushed slightly, chuckling at how bold he was." Thank you, I like yours too!"

" How old are you Mx. Y/n?"He asked, the smile never leaving his face. " I'm seventeen! And you?" You replied getting a 'twelve' from him.

You talked for a bit longer, but then our attention was caught by two crew members teasing another scrawny crew member.

" What'cha doin' Katsuo?" One teased

" With the way things are goin', you'll never cut it as a sailor."

The crew member then kicked Katsuo in the back, causing him to topple over his crate, dropping a few apples. You frowned, feeling bad for the man.

The crew continued with the teasing until the captain came out. " Hey Slackers! Get back to work!" He yelled. The two crew members instantly ran off.

You walked over to Katsuo and leaned down, outstretching your hand. " Here." You offered him a sweet smile. Katsuo blushed, and smiled back at you, gratefully taking your hand and allowing you to pull him off the ground.

" Got wax in your ears? Get moving." The captain boomed.

" Aye Aye sir right away!"

Gon picked up the apple that rolled away from Katsuo, " Wait!" He tossed the apple back to Katsuo.

" Thanks a lot!" Katsuo said, running off to get back to work.

The seagulls had started to squawk, which confused you. Gon looked up and seemed to have realized something.

" There's a storm coming."

You and the Captian looked at Gon shocked, " Yeah, and just how do you know that?"

" That's what the seagulls are saying" Gon replied.

The captain's eyes widened, " What?"

Gon reached up and wiggled his nose, " Also.." He took a big sniff, and his expression hardened. He did some sort of gymnastic jump up to get higher. Your eyes lit up in awe.
