"BEING NORMAL IS LIKE SITTING IN AN EMPTY ROOM WATCHING EXCITING MOVIES ON REPEAT." Those are the words from the brunette violinist herself, Vanya Hargreeves. Eric read the book in 3 days, yet, he didn't find it that fascinating, considering the fact that if she was really ordinary, she wouldn't even be in a superfamily or the umbrella academy itself. Surely there were special traits about her but Eric wouldn't know because he hadn't even met her and he had no interest to anymore. The umbrella academy was old news, the whole thing ended years ago.

"Get the dog!" His mother shouted, too busy watching another round of the bachelor to do anything about the loud barking outside so Eric rushed to the dull grey door of his small apartment, beckoning his little chihuahua inside.

"Lucas, you know not to bark like that." He whispered quickly to the pup and his mother let out a loud obnoxious groan in the other room.

"Stop talking to the damn thing!" She shouted again, so very aggravated and Eric picked up Lucas, rushing back into his room.

He had to go to work later today, so he was using his free time to read. He wasn't totally excited for the late shift, but he had to pay the bills somehow. It wasn't like his mom was going to do it.

He pulled out Harry Potter and laid down on the bed. Lucas cuddled up into his side as Eric began to read.

Eventually Eric's eyes shut and he let out a snore, rolling over, making Lucas let out a loud bark in protest as he almost got crushed. Eric jolted awake, looking around in a panic.

"Shoot!" He muttered, grabbing his wallet and keys before rushing out the door. He fell asleep again. It's like every time he wants to go to sleep, he can't, but when he doesn't, he does. He knew he probably wasn't going to be late but his boss would most likely think otherwise.

"Finally you're late." The chef muttered, putting up his apron and handing Eric a notepad and pen. Eric rolled his eyes, knowing he was on time, but his boss liked to exaggerate for dumb purposes. It's like he thinks, 'hmm if I say he's late all the time, maybe he'll think he's late all the time and not request a raise.' It was dumb in Eric's opinion. Even though a raise would be very much needed.

"Sorry sir." He muttered, it was dumb, the adults in his life never cared much for him, neither did the kids though.

"Better not happen again. The place is yours now, I'm off on break." Chef stated as he headed out. Eric nodded and sighed, tying the smaller blue apron around his waist.

He got started on preparing the donuts and making sure they were still warm for the time being. Surprising as it is, people sill strolled in to eat donuts this late. Then again he would if he could, who doesn't love a good donut.

He heard the bell ring and shrugged it off, grabbing his pen and pad. He was dreading this. Agnes was supposed to work today but called in sick, so Eric decided he might as well. He needed the money.

"Hi welcome to Griddy's Donuts, how can I help you?" He said in a monotone voice. He looked up and met eyes with a green eyed boy looking around his age, slightly taller than him, with brunette hair perfectly slicked to the side. The weird thing was the boy was in a uniform, Eric assumed it was for some private school. Probably some rich kid. Eric scrunched his eyebrows at him challengingly and the boy just smirked, unfazed. Eric noticed how he looked like one to have an ego.
