"WHO WERE THOSE GUYS?!" Eric asked Five worriedly as the other boy dragged him out through the back."Irrelevant, that's all you need to know." The other boy mumbled, pulling Eric to a car. It was grey and looked pretty expensive but vintage.
"Wait where are you taking me?" He questioned, trying to slow the other one down by pulling the other way. It only made Five pull on his arm harder.
"To somewhere safe, where the people who sent those guys won't find you. And if they do, you'll have protection. Don't worry, doll. I'm gonna end all this." Five confirmed quickly, getting in the drivers seat and leaving Eric to hesitantly walk around the car and get in on the other side. He had a feeling he would regret this. He was really screwing stranger danger.
"End what? I'm so confused. I need to go get my phone and-"
"Yeah, no. We don't have time for that. I'm dropping you off at the academy and-"
"The academy?"
"Yes and then I'm going to go find something out." Fine put the car in drive as he spoke. He rolled out onto the road, seeming relaxed during all this. Eric bit his lip, fighting back his other questions. He couldn't quite understand what the heck was going on, it was all happening so fast. Then again he used to be an Umbrella Academy nerd so he couldn't help but feel the tiny bit of excitement and adrenaline.
"Could you ugh... turn on the radio." The mocha skinned boy muttered, not liking the lingering silence.
"Sure." Five said easily, turning an old looking knob and the stereo cackled before playing. It was a soft song, Come on Eileen. Eric remembered the tune from his mother playing it when he was a little toddler. The memory made him smile and bop his head a bit. Five glanced at him quickly, analyzing his movements. Eric turned back to look at him and they met eyes. Five had these very bright eyes, as any teen would, but they were still different. Eric noticed how they held loss and pain, a lot of it actually. Before he could assume anything else though, Five coughed and turned back to the road.
Eric didn't think much of it after that, turning back to the other window. He watched them drive past the bridge by his house and he almost wanted to wave bye. Seems like he won't be returning for awhile. He hummed the music as it faded, feeling slightly more calm then before. Five's mouth twitched up into a half smile, which didn't go unnoticed by Eric, who flushed at the sight. He did have to admit that the other boy was quite handsome. Dimples and all. Then again he'd never say that out loud. Five seems like he already has quite an ego.
They pulled up to the iconic house, the one Eric used to see on the news and in his comics when he was younger. It was out in plain sight and such an ordinary looking building. But things are never as ordinary as they look.
"Woah." He whispered, stepping out of the car and looking at how overwhelming the house really was in full view. Five walked up behind him and grabbed his arm, guiding him to the door. He disappeared then reappeared, opening the door for Eric with a smirk.
"Welcome. To hell." He announced, strolling around the huge entrance. Eric awkwardly stepped in, looking at the fancy decorations and carpets. A huge man stalked forward from the main staircase, making Eric jump slightly. He hadn't even noticed him. The man was twice his size, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Five rolled his own green orbs, uninterested.
"Five, where have you been?" The man asked quickly, he seemed stressed, his eyes glancing from Eric to Five.
"I've been out getting coffee. Not like it's any of your business either way but I need Eric to stay here." Five explained, crossing his arms. Eric noticed how he treated the older man like a little boy. The man scoffed at his words.
"This isn't a motel, Five." He replied and sent Eric a stern glance. Eric faltered with his gaze, looking down at the ground quickly.
"Seriously Luther, did the moon kill your idiotic brain cells? I'm just keeping him here for awhile. And he will stay in my room so don't go making a fuss." Five hissed and Luther seemed to back down, strolling out of the room without another word. Eric debated on what Five simply turned back to Eric.
"Family. Gotta love 'em." He said sourly and turned to the stairs, walking up them quickly. It took Eric a few minutes to realize that he was supposed to follow him. He quickly rushed up, trying to keep up with Five's quick pace.
"Since you're staying in my room, you can borrow my clothes. They're all uniforms but they'll do. Don't leave the room unless the academy is under attack, in that case, hide somewhere." He discussed, walking into a baby blue room. Eric looked around, it looked pretty normal to him. Five watched him, seemingly taking in every movement. To say the least, Eric felt like an animal at the zoo. He walked to the closet, opening it hesitantly and noticing that it did in fact have only uniforms.
"Is this all you ever wear?" He questioned and Five shrugged.
"We can't all be fashion icons, doll."
Five eventually left, leaving Eric in this big scary house all alone. Eric bit his lip, reading one of the books on the shelf.
"He likes you." A voice said by the door, making Eric jump. He met eyes with a brunette man with some facial hair. He looked drunk, making Eric scrunch his eyebrows.
"Who are you?" He questioned, nervous that this man might be like Luther or worse. The man just laughed dryly.
"I'm Klaus. Last time I checked at least." He walked closer and Eric tilted his head at him.
"Klaus? You're the kid who can talk to the dead right?" He questioned and Klaus bowed dramatically.
"Yes sir that is I." He confirmed and Eric almost wanted to laugh. This man was definitely drunk and probably high too. He seemed harmless never the less. Eric thought back to what he first said.
"Wait who likes me?" He asked in a small voice. He could already guess the answer.
"Five. The way he looks at you." He replied and Eric frowned. How would Klaus even know? He wasn't there when they talked to Luther. As if reading his mind, Klaus continued,
"Ben says that Five seems defensive about you already." Eric looked around and leaned closer to the man.
"Wait who's Ben? Is he invisible or something?" He curiously asked and Klaus chuckled loudly, throwing his head back and holding onto the door as he wheezed.
"Ben's dead. But same thing." He said while still laughing. Eric didn't get the joke.
"Oh wait I remember hearing about-"
A shot suddenly went off downstairs. Klaus and Eric met eyes worriedly. Klaus pulled out a flask quickly and took a chug.
"Oh shit."
