FIVE FINALLY DECIDED ON WHAT THEY WOULD DO, but he also said that for a moment, the apocalypse would have to wait. He told Eric that they'd need to get Hazel and Cha Cha off their backs.
"Klaus just returned and I heard from Diego that he has the briefcase that Cha Cha and Hazel used to time travel so we will need to get that and set up a meeting with them to contact my ex boss and clear my name. To ensure safety." He explained and Eric listened, nodding, even though he didn't understand a single thing Five just said.
"Okay but now can you explain some things for me?" He questioned and Five sighed, nodding.
"Sure, doll. What do you wanna know?" He answered and Eric thought for a moment. He ran through everything and decided to ask about what he didn't know, which was a lot.
"Okay first, I didn't know you had an old boss. Where did you work? Some secret time travel lab or something?" Eric joked but actually was genuinely curious.
"I worked with a group who keeps time in order basically. We make sure what happens, happens. And we make sure that nobody changes it. Some of the biggest events have been because of us." He explained and Eric bit his lip.
"Huh." He said, analyzing this new info. Five looked amused as Eric had his moment of confusion then realization then finally understanding.
"Okay... why is your old boss out to kill you then?" He questioned and Five shrugged.
"I want to change what's supposed to happen. I want to stop the apocalypse, she doesn't." He replied and Eric frowned worriedly.
"Wait why?" He asked innocently, making Five smile.
"Well she says that it's just meant to happen." He finished and Eric's frowned deepened even more so.
"But all those lives. Gone." He mumbled, shutting his doe eyes in sympathy and fear. Five leaned forward and resting his hand on Eric's arm.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay. I'm gonna find a way to stop this." He said, slowly rubbing Eric's arm. Five was never good at comforting people but he found that he could easily offer out comfort for the darker boy.
"We better stop sitting here and go and do something about it then." Eric decided and Five was almost shocked at how determined the boy sounded.
"Okay well first things first. We need the briefcase and we need to send out a letter to my old boss to set up a meeting. Which we can do that through Cha Cha and Hazel. But the briefcase... I think Klaus still has it." He explained and cringed at the last part. Five didn't trust his brother much. Eric let out a breath and thought for another moment.
"Yeah okay... How about we go get that from Klaus then." He suggested to which Five nodded.
"He should be downstairs." Five said as Eric followed him through the big mansion and down the steps. They walked past Luther, who was watching them like a hawk, and out the door. Five marched up to the trash can, confusing Eric, as he knocked on the metal. Surely enough his brother's head popped out and Eric noticed his puffy eyes.
"What?" Klaus asked angrily, holding about the side of the dumpster.
"We need that briefcase. The one you took from Hazel and Cha Cha." Five informed him, eyeing his currently drunk brother.
"Oh! Those two! Yes I seem to remember you leaving me with them to be tortured! So yes brother dearest, I would love to help! Kidding!" Klaus yelled out then dived back into the dumpster. Five watched him, unamused.
"This isn't some game Klaus." He spoke out, sounding bored.
"And I'm not some guy who you can just leave in the hands of murderers." Klaus muttered from the trash. Eric frowned, stepping forward.
"What he means is, he's sorry he left you there. You didn't deserve that." Eric said softly and Klaus stuck his head back out. "You didn't deserve that." Eric repeated, offering Klaus a sad smile. The man looked at the younger boy in thought while Five watched their interaction with confused yet intrigued eyes.
"It's... I destroyed it." Klaus admitted slowly and Eric turned to Five quickly. Five clenched his fists and almost screamed in anger. Eric could practically see the steam coming out from his ears.
"You did what?" Five asked, gritting his teeth together painfully. Klaus cringed and Five's anger and then brushed it off.
"I destroyed it. That thing was evil." He explained, as if that would somehow make Five feel better.
"That 'thing' was our ticket to getting rid of Hazel and Cha Cha period. Now they're stuck here! And we have no way to contact my boss." He hissed and Eric quickly tried to think of something to say.
"What if we filled a fake briefcase with metal and stuff then we said that it was the real one and then said we'd give it to them in exchange for a meeting with your boss?" He suggested and Five considered this.
"That could work. I say we bring Luther with us just in case. But that's not to bad of an idea." He said, looking at Eric proudly. Klaus looked between the two and almost smirked.
"Yeah okay have fun with that. I'm gonna take a nap." He declared, immediately dropping down in the dumpster and snoring. Eric laughed lightly and Five admired the dimples that showed as he did. Five nudged Eric softly.
"You came up with a pretty solid plan on the spot. Maybe that could be your superpower, doll." He teased and Eric rolled his eyes.
"Yeah sure. That's real scary. Solid Plan Man! Comes up with plans.... on the spot." Eric said dramatically and Five laughed. They smiled at each other for a moment, getting lost in the other's eyes.
"So are you two gonna date or what."
"Woah!" Eric jumped and turned to Klaus who was watching them with a grin. "I thought you were asleep." Five said, amused. Klaus shrugged and winked at both of them.
"Don't worry I won't tell anyone that you both are having sex with your eyes." He said and Eric choked on a laugh.
"Bye Klaus." Five said, turning to walk back to the house. Eric followed him with a blush on his face.
"The tension! I swear it's there!" Klaus shouted behind them.
