David watched as the pair circled each other. Regina memorizing the footwork that Killian already taught her, and now she could use his lessons against him.
They were both fast, smooth, light on their feet. Regina locked her eyes to his, as the gloves went side to side aiming at him. "Go at me for real!" She scolded him, figuring he would have taken a hit by now at her.
He grinned, and swung at her, and she dodged. "Come on then," he encouraged her, and she moved towards him again, hitting at him and missing once, twice, and then catches him a third time.
She felt her glove impact him, and was impressed with herself. She couldn't help but smile. "Don't get excited about it!" He scolded and moved catching her forearm, and then she swings again.
"Come on now, I taught you better than that!" he coaches. She scrunches her nose, and gets into it, going at him hard now. "Yeah there you go!" He yells in encouragement, but blocks each punch.
"Is this your best? Gonna have to whip your ass into shape!" He mocks her, and she wails him, finally getting a point.
"Woah round 1!" David calls, ringing the bell.
"To your corners," David said.
Killian stares at Regina as she stares at him from the other side of the ropes. They obviously caught the audience, who was now engaged in their fight.
"Ok let's go," David called out and rang the bell again.
Regina even got a few cheering in her corner. Killian was internally full of pride.
Rounds passed by and Regina kept Killian on a run for his money. She got a few more hits on him, but he was still beating her in total points.
"You gonna knock out your coach?" He rose his brow at her. "It's a fight isn't it? Isn't that what I'm supposed to do? "She asked.
"Did I teach you that yet?" He asked. "I know how," she insisted staring him down.
Killian's POV
There we go, she's into it, good girl. I wanted her to win, but I wouldn't throw it to her.
As the gloves hit against each other, by the pair continuing to block in perfect unison on the other, Regina bit her lip in concentration, and slammed a right hook, catching him finally.
She watched in extreme surprise, as he hit the ground of the ring.
"Woah," He shook his head, "I say Regina won that one," David said. Killian looked up at her as she maintained her stance over him.
"Ok, you won," Killian smiled at her getting back to his feet.
"I beat you," Regina grinned.
"You know that means he has to treat you to dinner?" David asked. Killian rolled his eyes, "What? You know that's the rule, if the student beats the teacher, he owes you dinner, order the steak and lobster," David pat Regina.
Regina smiled proudly.
"Ok ok, fine, dinner, tonight," He said. "Is that really a rule?" Regina asked. "Yes unfortunately it is," He swaggered out of the ring.
"What are you doing?" Killian asked David as he went to his office to change his gloves. "Helping you," David said.
"Why?" Killian asked. "Oh come on, you know she likes you, and it's definitely in the romantic sense," David said.
"Listen, you're lucky that it actually is a rule that the trainer takes out the student when they best them," Killian said. "And?" David asked.
Killian sighed, and looked at him, "And she's also being trained by me, so fraternizing, really isn't an option," he said.
"Why? You know if you just let yourself be happy, may help," David shrugged. "Don't start lecturing me, they are not the same," Killian said.
"Well she's the only woman who you've been willing to remotely train since it happened," David said.
"Doesn't mean she and I should date," Killian said. "Why not? If you feel something different for Regina than you did Kay.." David rambled.
"Listen, Kay looked up to me in a different way, that's all," Killian said. "She was like a little sister," Killian said. "Exactly, and you don't look at Regina like that," David said.
"I'm still training her either way though," Killian said.
"Yeah well, who said a boyfriend can't train his girlfriend?" David hinted and headed out. Killian rolled his eyes once more and looked down at the gym to see Regina practicing more on the punching bag.
That night, he couldn't deny that he would dress up and take her to a nice place. He also just delighted in nice dinners and being in gym clothes all the time, he liked cleaning up a bit.
Regina was similar, she was often, well always, in gym gear when she saw him, so she was happy at the idea of wearing actual clothes to go out for the evening.
She dressed in a fitted black dress, tight to her curvy and toned shape, and her heels.
Regina's POV
Why are you spending so much time getting ready? He's just your trainer, and this is just part of a rule that they take the winner out. It's not like a real date. Is it?
The doorbell rang and Regina shuffled to get it.
Opening the door, "Wow," he said out loud at her. "You look .... very stunning, if I do say so," Killian said. "Well thanks," Regina shrugged cutely.
"You look..." She looked over his black slacks, nice shoes, and a fitted sweater, and his hair perfectly styled.
"I know," he smirked confidently.
"So where are you taking me? Some place that actually has steak and lobster?" Regina asked. "Mmm, you'll just have to see, come on," He tipped his head and they headed out.
They arrived at one of the nicest restaurants in town. "Two, Jones," he said to the host, and they were seated quickly.
After a moment of looking over the menu, "You're in training, but this is an occasion, so you can have a glass of wine if you wish," Killian said.
"Well thanks.. coach," Regina smiled cutely at him.
"Umm, I'm sorry to bother you," a man came up to them, "My son, is a huge fan of you," he said. "Could I possibly ask you to sign this for me?" He asked.
"Sure, of course," Killian nodded, "Your son's name?" He asked. "Oh Cayden," He said. Killian wrote a little message with the boy's name on the menu, as that's all the father had. "Here you go," Killian said.
"Great, wish you would get back in the ring, we loved watching you," He said. "Yeah well, I mainly train now," Killian nodded looking at Regina.
