Following days
"So, Solo is the defending title champion of the LightWeight Women's title, that's your 135 lb weight class," Killian said sitting at his desk.
Regina nods listening to him, and David pops in the door. "So your manager..." Killian begins. "I don't have one of those," Regina says. "Yeah that's me," David smiled sitting down, handing Killian and her some coffee.
"Oh," She's pleasantly surprised. "Yeah Dave here is good at the business things behind the scenes, as I'm too, what was the word you used?" Killian asked. "Combative, Gruffly," David teased.
"Right," Killian rolled his eyes. "So Dave here, will coordinate with Solo's manager when the fights will be held, where, how many to win the title, based on each of your experience," Killian explained.
"Well I don't have any previous fights," Regina said. "I know, that's why it will be a bit more matches before you can gain the title, usually ten in this case," Killian said.
"Over how long?" Regina asked. "About eight, nine months," David answered. "Yeah, plenty of time in between fights to improve and strategize, which is my job," Killian grinned.
"Are you going to let me do anything aside from be the face of her management?" David asked. "Shut up, you know I'm a control freak with my personal fighters," Killian said.
"Yeah I was one," David grinned. "And you got your damn title didn't you? Shut up," Killian scoffed. "You two really are married," Regina teased.
Killian looked at her playfully, "Mmm you watch it," He winked.
"And obviously we will handle the little details of getting you your outfits and all that fun stuff," Killian said. "I think I want red and black like my father," Regina told him.
"I had those colors," Killian smiled. "I know, I did actually watch you on TV," Regina said. "Really?" Killian asked, as this was new information.
"Yeah, seventeen year old me, watching twenty two year old you, I thought you were cute," Regina shrugged.
"Aww," Killian smiled. "Ok can we?" David interrupted. "Right, so David get her an outfit, to her color request, and find out our terms against Solo," Killian said.
"Anything else? Shine your shoes? Laundry?" David mocks. "Yeah do that too," Killian throws a bag at him.
David tucked out, and left the two alone again.
"So we're moving along," Regina mused. "Mhm you're getting there, and closer to the first match, in two weeks," Killian said.
"You're anxious aren't you?" Regina asked. "Mm? I'm going to be anxious no matter what," He said.
"Aww boyfriend," Regina said cutely.
"Ok ok, you just have to listen to me, and once you're in that ring, you're on your own. I'm right there off to the side, but I can't help you, aside from words and telling you to get at her weakness." He said.
"You're getting worried on me," Regina pouted. "I'm a little worried, I just want you ready, and I don't want to see you fall, I want you winning every round," He said.
"Ok coach," Regina smiled up at him. "Good, let's go, back to training," He said. Regina followed behind him and he stopped, and turned.
Kissing her sensually, she moaned happily at him. "Ok, now back to coaching," he grinned and they headed back downstairs.
Regina bit her lip and followed along back to the training mindset.
Regina's POV
My boyfriend is hot, and dreamy.
"Oh, and the matches will be televised," Killian mentioned. "Really?" Regina gasped brightly. "Yeah, just like your Dad, you get to be on TV too, oh and me," He winked.
"Wow, will we have interviews and things?" She asked. "Mmmm and she's going to try and intimidate you at press conference," Killian said.
"I get a press conference?" Regina squealed cutely.
Killian's POV
I love her cuteness. I love her.
One week Later
Killian escorts Regina, in a suit and tie even, as they sit down surrounded by photographers. Regina tried not to show her nerves, as she sat there, Killian gently touched her leg under the table to calm her down.
Regina's POV
I hope I don't puke.
Solo, and her trainer arrived, and Killian cordially shook his hand before he sat on the other side of Regina. The Women eyed each other challenging one another.
"Good," Killian said gently to Regina.
The conference began and reporters began with their questions.
"Coach Jones, what made you take on another female fighter after the incident with your former one?" One asked right away.
Regina sighed, feeling Killian sigh next to her.
"I thought it was time for another female fighter to take on Solo, and I knew I was the right trainer for the job to train Regina, she has the right drive, like her father," Killian answered, keeping his cool.
"And you aren't concerned that your previous mistake with the fighter known as Kay will come back to haunt you?" Another asked.
Killian clenched his jaw a moment, "Regina is my former trainer's daughter, Champion Pedro Vasquez, I owe him enough to train his daughter to win. The same thing won't happen again, and frankly the only reason it happened is because the opponent here, SOLO, did an illegal move after the bell rang," Killian said roughly.
Solo's trainer spoke up, "That was a one time incident," he defended. "Better be, otherwise you're fighting me after if you try any illegal move," Killian scoffed.
The reporters ate it all up, moving their pens speedily to catch the threats. Regina looked at Killian unsure if this was what was expected from the conference.
"If Coach Jones has something to say to my fighter," Solo's trainer, Warner commented with a shrug. "I don't have anything to say, Regina will see her in the ring, and we'll see who not only fights more fair, but who's really the best," Killian grins confidently.
"Regina?" A reporter asked and Regina composed herself. "Are you hoping to at least win a title in honor of your father?" They asked.
"Yes, but I'm also doing this to prove something to myself," Regina said. "What's that?" the reporter followed up.
"That I can beat the best, on my own," Regina said. Killian smiled proudly next to her.
After the conference, as the group left the microphones, Solo gave another glare to her opponent Regina. She stared at her a moment.
"You think you're going to be as good as your Father?" Solo spoke up. Regina glared at her, "You have no idea what I'm capable of," Regina said, turning quickly and walking off.
Killian's POV
Damn that was hot. That's my girl.
Back at the gym
"Well that went.... interesting," David said. "Oh please like you didn't know they would bring up Kay," Killian sighed. "You were great," Killian praised Regina.
"Well seems a good time to give you this," David said handing Regina a box.
Regina opened it, and inside was a black and red satin robe, with Vasquez 2.0 on the back. She smiled holding it up to them against her chest. "Perfect," Killian grinned.
