Christmas break is finally over. I was preparing for school when I heard my phone beeped— an iMessage notification from my boyfriend. Calling Juan as my boyfriend, a thing that I don't think I'd ever get used to. Parang gusto magbuhol ng dila ko.

Are u already in school?

Does he really think I'd be in school as early as 6 in the morning? Feeling naman niya athlete ako tulad niya, na 5am nasa school na for training.

To: Juan Gerardo
House pa. Why?

As I wait for his reply, I placed all my school stuff inside my backpack including my Macbook para wala ako masyadong dala, less hassle.

I'll pick you up. Let's have breakfast 😊

Gosh, hindi ako sanay sa ganito. Feeling ko sobrang babae ko dahil sa mga ganyan ni Juan.

To: Juan Gerardo
No need to pick me up, Juany 😊 I'll see you in school in a few.

I'd rather hear your banters than your sweet nothings. Mas feel ko 'yung Juan na walang ibang ginawa kundi bwisitin ako.

That was true. Mas gusto ko 'yung playful na Juan, doon ako na-inlove hindi sa trying hard maging sweet na Juan. I don't know why, pero hindi ko talaga feel pag sweet siya.

After I have fixed myself and my things, I made my way to the dining room to have some breakfast with my parents.

"Do you have lakad later?" Mom asked me before she took a sip of her coffee.

Hay. My mom is more conyo than me.

I shook my head. "Wala naman. I'll let you know if may biglaang lakad kami ni Kass."

Mom nodded. "Okay. Be good in school, Camille."

"I will." I replied.

I finished all the food on my plate then I bid good bye to my parents, I didn't want to be late.

"Kuya Edgar," I called our driver who was reading a newspaper in the garden. "Pahatid po sa school."

Kuya Edgar neatly folded back the newspaper before he gave me a small smile. "New year, new life ah." he commented. I don't usually ask him to drive me to school, I'd rather drive myself to school than to ask him to drive for me. Ang hassle for them eh.

"Mejo lang po." I replied, chuckling. I was too lazy to bring my car today. "Pero hindi niyo na po ako kailangan sunduin mamaya."

"Paano ka uuwi?" Kuya Edgar asked, opening the car door for me.

"Commute nalang po." I answered. "Isang jeep lang naman eh."

He nodded. "Pero kung gusto mo magpasundo i-text mo lang ako ah."

I smiled at him. "Sige po."

When I arrived at school, I headed straight to my classroom. Dito ko nalang hihintayin 'yung best friend ko. Buzzer beater 'yun, for sure.

"How are you, Kass?" I asked my best friend as soon as she got inside the room. I missed her. We weren't able to spend time with each other during the holidays. "I missed you you, beshie."

"I missed you, too, Cam!" she replied then she kissed me on my cheek. She didn't look okay. She looked sad. "Sobrang daming ganap sa life ko nung vacation?"
