It's been a week since the incident at GDL Residence happened. Mom was fuming mad at me because I've been skipping school for a week now. Kassandra's bombarding my inbox— asking my whereabouts, if I was still alive or I was sick. I've been ignoring my friend's messages because I was too ashamed to show my face or even talk to them. I humiliated myself infront of a guy whom I treated as my friend even before he became my boyfriend, I still couldn't believe that he can do that to me.
"Ano? Aren't you still going to school tomorrow?" Mom asked me, she looked iritated. "What is really your problem, Camille Kermina?"
I sighed. "I don't have a problem, okay? I just don't feel like going to school these past few days. I was drained and all lang."Mom shook her head in frustration. She never liked it when I'm being stubborn. "Siguraduhin mong papasok ka na bukas ah."
"I'm actually going to school now, mom." I replied before I continued eating my breakfast. "First class was freecut daw."
"Good to hear that." Mom answered back.
After having breakfast with my mom, I headed back to my room and started prepping up for school. I chose to wear my maroon UP shirt and a denim skirt. Just a laidback 'fit.
"Mom, I'll go now." I shouted as I made my way out of the house. "I'll commute today." I added.
I waited for a jeepney bound to UP Campus right outside our village. I'm really thankful that our house is just a stone's throw away from school, I can commute whenever I want.
I was walking to my college building when I bumped into Juan. I wanted to walk back and avoid him but that would only make me look pathetic. I didn't bother to look at him because honestly, I couldn't look at him without getting mad. What he did to me was too much.
"Hey, Camille." Juan called my name.
I stopped but I didn't glance at him.
"Can we talk?" he asked. He had the audacity to ask me that after what he did. My gosh, Juan Gerardo.
"That's exactly what I wanted to happen a week ago, Juan." I replied nonchalantly. "I even begged for 5 minutes of your time. I think that was enough, we got nothing to talk about anyway."
Juan heaved out a long and deep sigh. "I wanted us to work but you're always giving me a hard time, Camille. Can't we compromise even just for once?"
I faked a laugh. Why does it sound like it was all my fault? It was me who has been so invested and wanted this relationship to work so bad, bakit parang ako 'yung sinisisi niya? Bakit parang ako 'yung pahirap?
"Compromise?" I repeated as if I didn't understand that word. "Really? Coming from you, Juan. Do you even know what does that mean? Kasi parang hindi mo alam 'yon."
