FOUL 16

I checked the time on my wristwatch, it was already 8 in the evening and UPMBT's training is almost done. I made my way to the gym and patiently waited for Juan. Last night, he asked me to have a dinner date with him tonight.

When I got inside the gym, there was no one in the court. I shrugged my shoulder off, maybe they were all in the shower room.

My whole attention was on my phone when someone called my name. I slowly looked back and found Juan's teammate.

"Why are you here, Cam?" Diego asked as he puts his gym bag on his shoulder.

"I'm waiting for Juan." I replied, keeping my phone in my pocket. "Is he done na ba?"

Diego's brows furrowed. "Juan already left. Like 15 minutes ago. He's going to meet his friend daw."

My heart started beating fast and I didn't like it. I hope my hunch was wrong.

"Ganun ba? I'll get going now." I said with a small smile. "Thank you, Diegs."

I walked towards the oval. Kung kailan naman hindi ako nagdala ng sasakyan saka naman naging epal si Juan Gerardo.

I decided to sat on one of the benches in front of Masscom and checked my social media accounts, hindi talaga maganda 'yung kutob ko kung sino kasama niya ngayon. I quicky tapped the Instagram app on my phone and searched for her name.

I tapped Dani's icon and watched her stories, I was about to close it when Juan's face flashed on my screen. Damn it! Why are they together? He ditched me just to be with her? What the actual fuck, Juan?!

I closed the app and immediately sent Juan a text.

It took him few minutes before he replied.

I turned my phone off. Bahala ka sa buhay mo Juan Gerardo.

I quickly got up from my seat and rode a jeepney bound to Katipunan. Buti nalang talaga malapit lang 'yung school sa bahay.

"Why are home already?" Mom asked me as soon as I came inside the living room. She was watching some local drama. "May date kayo ni Juan 'di ba?"

"Hindi natuloy, ma." I lied to cover up Juan. "I'll go to my room now, I'll study for my exam pa."

"Good luck!"

When I got in my room, I went straight to the bathroom to have a good quick shower. This will surely wash off all the negative vibes in my body.

After taking a shower, I climbed to my bed and opened my laptop. The moment it connected on wi-fi, Juan bombarded my iMessage notification.

Bahala ka sa buhay mo.

I did not bother to read his messages. Juan is such a hardheaded guy, I already told him not text that girl and what did he do? He even went out with her at my expense.

I was in the middle of reading the powerpoint presentation our prof gave us when someone knocked on my door.

"Camille," Ate Marie called me, she was peeping on the small opening of the door.
