Chapter Five

I was laying on a tree branch. I was almost to sleep when I heard a strange sound. I opened one eye and saw Callum putting that cube thing close to me then further away.

"Go mess with Rayla, or something," I said. "I need more sleep."

"But it's already morning," Callum said.

"Five more minutes," I said sleepily.

Callum walked away and started messing with Bait and the primal stone.

"This doesn't end well for you," I heard Rayla say.

"I'm going to find some food," Rayla said.

"We've got food," Ezran said.

"That bread is more like rocks," I said, still trying to sleep.

"Yeah," Rayla said. "I thought it was a sack of clubs."

She picked up one of the bread sticks and swung it around before hitting her hand and dropping it. It landed on a rock and the rock split in two.

"No, its food," Ezran said, picking up the fallen break. "Ish."

"Don't you dare put that in your mouth," I warned him.

He did it anyways.

I sighed and made the trees move their branches to block out all light.

"I thought you said 'five more minutes'," Callum said, pulling some of the branches appear to talk to me.

"Its hard enough having trees screaming at you all night and day," I said. "I can't even sleep at all. I might be starting to have a mental break down."

"Why are the trees screaming at you?" Callum asked.

"That's the worse part!" I said, sitting up quickly. "I don't know why! They're just screaming 'Help! Help! Help!' Like why do they want my help?!"

"That does sound annoying," Callum agreed.

He closed the branches again and I move around a bit.

"HELP!" Callum yelled.

I fell out of my branch and hit the ground harder than expected. I was higher up that I thought.

I looked over at Callum and saw that he had a ball of lightning in his hand, and it was flying everywhere.

Ezran was hiding behind a rock.

I cautiously crawled forward.

"Okay...?" I said. "What's going on?"

Rayla burst through the trees with her swords out and asked, "What is it? Is anyone hurt?"

"He tried to copy Claudia's lightning spell," Ezran said. "But he doesn't know how to finish it."

"Yeah, that would be a problem," I said.

"I only saw her do the first half," Callum said. "But I'm very good at the first half!"

"Seriously?!" Rayla asked. "That sounds like a really good and safe idea."

"Lecture well deserved," Callum said. "But what do I do now."

"When you release a spell there's normally a word, or a fraze or something in ancient dragonic," Rayla said.

"Anybody speak dragon?" Callum asked.

"Fulger," I said. "Wait, no, that's Latin."

"Why do you know Latin?" Ezran asked.

I shrugged.
